Meet Camila Nuque, a talented lash artist based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, trained by the skilled @thelashtech.nique. Camila has been lashing for 10 months and has shown incredible growth in such a short time.

Like many new lash artists, she initially struggled with timing and retention, two areas where clients noticed room for improvement.

To overcome these challenges, Camila invested in high-quality products and practiced on as many models as she could. She placed a clock next to her lash bed, helping her stay mindful of her timing and gradually improve her speed. A retention course introduced her to new techniques, and soon after, she began to see clients returning with their lashes intact even after 3+ weeks.

Camila’s inspiration comes from women who embody beauty inside and out, including her clients. Her journey into lashing has been transformative, especially after emerging from an abusive relationship. Lashes became a means for Camila to rediscover her self-worth, and she strives to inspire that same confidence in her clients.

What keeps Camila motivated in the lash industry is her passion for the artistry involved and the strong connections she builds with clients.

To all future lash artists and those who are just starting or struggling, her advice is clear: remain persistent and don’t get discouraged by rumors about the industry. Focus on what you can improve as an artist, invest in further education, and don’t hesitate to use ads to reach new clients.
