EYELASH EXTENSION GLUE: BLACK VS CLEAR
Ever wonder why some lash artists use clear while others use black?
Velour Lash Adhesive, Color Lashes, Short Tip Boot Lash Tweezer and Ultra Crystal Clear Bond are used here. To shop, please click here.
One of the most common eyelash extension glue used by lash artists is black glue; using it will add great intensity to the lash line, or it can simply hide the lash bond without drawing eyeliner over it.
Compared with black glue, transparent adhesive is not very common to use. If you have a client who wants a colored lash set, this clear adhesive is perfect! Because it gives a seamless bond between the color lash extension and the natural lash of your clients.
The clear adhesive is for beginner lash artists who have trouble creasing their lashes for light density and brightly colored lashes.
Also, this kind of adhesive is perfect to use for clients who are allergic to black adhesives.

GUIDE TO USING EYELASH EXTENSION GLUE CORRECTLY
As a lash artist, one of our concerns is how to use the eyelash glue properly, how to shake it, and how long. It is essential to know because we want to get most of our eyelash glue.
SHAKE YOUR LASH GLUE
Always shake your lash adhesive before the lash appointment. If you shake it with your hand, make sure to shake it side by side for at least 1 or 2 minutes to mix the ingredients properly. Your second drop will be the freshest with all the ingredients mixed.
Never shake your adhesive up and down. Every time you shake your glue-up and down, it will go up on the nozzle.
Thinner viscosity adhesive is very delicate, so if you're shaking up and down, chances are you will get the cap stuck to it, and your glue will not work correctly. It might give you some issues, and as lash artists, we don't want to be wasting money.
If you're using a glue shaker, start shaking your eyelash adhesive one minute before your day begins; you may also do it in the middle of the day.
You will know just dropping your first glue dot whether you have shaken it properly. If it's gooey, you need to shake it slightly longer. Also, it's an indication that your adhesive may be wrong.

ALWAYS BURP YOUR EYELASH EXTENSION GLUE
Ensure to burp your adhesive to last for as long as possible (usually four weeks). If you do not burp the glue, the air will get into it and make it much less effective.

EYELASH GLUE STORAGE
Make sure your lash adhesive stays fresh by storing it properly. Use an airtight container to keep it in the dark and cool place, or lash adhesive vault and keep the bottle upright.
PRO TIP: If you use an airtight container, you can put silica gel beads or rice into it to absorb moisture.
Remember that adhesive works at its best when it's in range. For some reason, you are not in control of your humidity or temperature whenever you work. Also, be careful to put your eyelash adhesive next to a window. You don't want it to get overheated.
If you are having difficulty with your humidity, you can buy a warm mist humidifier that will work better than a cool-mist humidifier.
If you have too much moisture, you can get a dehumidifier. Sometimes it is hard to control the humidity if you work in a larger room/studio. I recommend getting a room divider to help you manage your humidity a little more.

CLEANING NOZZLES WITH LINT-FREE WIPES
Keeping the nozzle clean is the best way to get the most out of your lash adhesive. Lint-free wipes keep your adhesive nozzle from becoming stuck in the cap due to buildup, degrading the bond. Use adhesive remover and adhesive wipes to remove glue from your tools and tweezers.
Velour Lash Adhesive and Eyelash Adhesive Cleaning Wipes are used here. To shop, please click here.
PRO TIPS:
You can use a small scissor to scrape or push off the residue gently. Point the nozzle away from you when doing this. Continue to do it on all sides of the nozzle, and eventually, it will come off.
You can use a makeup sponge because they're lint-free and don't leave any debris on the nozzle, and it absorbs the glue residue very well. One sponge can last a month. You can also use foil.
If the glue buildup up and dries onto the nozzle, you can use a pin to unclog it.

REPLACE THE OLD NOZZLE WITH A NEW NOZZLE
Your nozzle may become too clogged to be saved with a pin or scissor. You also need to replace the nozzle if the nozzle looks distorted or too hard to remove the lid.

Tips For Storing Your Lash Adhesive The Right Way
You may not know it, but your lash adhesive plays a huge role in the success of your application. It is a crucial part of the process as it holds the lashes in place for weeks at a time.
So, it is important to store your adhesive properly so that it does not go bad or lose its effectiveness over time.

Unfortunately, many lash artists don’t know how to properly store their lash adhesive. If stored incorrectly, the adhesive can dry out and become unusable. Here are some tips to help:
For Unopened Lash Adhesive:
- Put silica or oxygen absorber packets in a small airtight container and keep them upright.
- Keep your glue away from direct sunlight (we know, that sounds obvious… but how many times do we see others leaving their glues on windowsills?!)
- Don't leave it in the fridge for too long either, since that can cause condensation and other issues with the product (maximum of 3 months from purchase)
TIP: If you've been storing your lash adhesive in the fridge after you open it, we're sorry to tell you… it's time to start looking for a new place to keep it.
The temperature fluctuations of your refrigerator cause condensation build-up on the inside of the bottle that degrades the adhesive and results in poor lash retention. That's right: if you've been keeping your lash adhesive in the fridge, it's not going to do much good when you apply it.
For Opened Lash Adhesive:
- Store it in a cool, dark place. (as much as possible not in your fridge!)
- Keep out of direct sunlight! (the heat can make the glue more liquid and harder to control.)
- Use silica/oxygen absorbers to keep moisture out of the container. (this will keep it fresh longer.)
- Make sure to clean off any leftover glue on the lid after each use; this will make sure that no excess product dries on either side and forms clumps or gets stuck in the nozzle itself.
- When you open your new pack of lash adhesive, it is best to use it within 3 months. You can extend this if you keep it stored correctly and don't expose it to heat or light.
- We recommend replacing your adhesive every 30 days - once opened, the lifespan of the product will be reduced by half!
- If you're using expired lash adhesive? That's not okay: just throw it out and buy a new one. It's not worth risking losing clients over free refills when you can just spend $30-50 on a new bottle of adhesive, right?
WHY SHOULD YOU CRYSTALIZE GLUE DROP AFTER YOU ARE DONE WORKING WITH IT?
- Decrease the fumes for both you and your client
- Fewer fumes, fewer sensitivities
- Use bonder to crystalize
- Your new drop will be more effective if there's not an old drop of glue nearby, causing fumes

CONCLUSION
When you purchase your eyelash extension glue, you want to get a hygrometer first to know your humidity and temperature level in your lash room or studio. From there, you can purchase the perfect glue.
Ensure it's within range with humidity, temperature, and drying time. If you are a new lash artist, don't use a fast-drying lash glue (half a second drying time) because your hands are still slower, and you're in the phase of learning your techniques; you don't want to be rushed by a faster drying adhesive. Take your time, be patient, and practice more, and as you get prompt and more experienced with your hands, you can get a quicker adhesive that matches you perfectly.
The drying period is more directly linked to humidity because the eyelash extension adhesive interacts and dries with humidity more than anything else.
