Lash Symmetry Matters
If the fan symmetry is too wide or uneven, it will cause the lashes to look messy and not even.
If the foot of the fan is long, when the fan is applied, there could be some sparse areas on the lashes.
If the fan foot is too short, there's a chance of poor retention since there will be a poor surface area.

PINCH METHOD
It is an excellent method to be used by beginners when you are practicing to do volume lash fans. Make sure to have the best tweezers that are comfortable to use and grip.
Grab your extension and apply pressure on your lash tweezers with a heavy, firm grip to prevent you from losing any lash extension.
Using your thumb and index finger, run through, pinch the base, and keep your tweezers completely tight.
After pinching the base, release pressure on the tweezers and tip your lash fans on your adhesive.

PINCHING TECHNIQUE TIP
When practicing fan making, don't get rid of the lash fibers if the pinch technique doesn't work from the first try. Keep pinching 3-4-5 times until it finally works. Lashes are pricy, especially when practicing. You can get much more out of your supplies this way.

I wish I had known this when I was practicing. I had no idea that you didn't have to toss out the lashes if it didn't work on the first try. I spent so much money on lash trays to practice. The key is to get that micro-movement correct, and that takes practice ( lots of it ) can get a little frustrating to buy so many supplies to toss them out in the garbage because the fans are no good.
The other tip is to store the fans that work out ( pro-mades ) to use on clients to avoid waste.
If your hands shake, like mine, try stabilizing your index finger on the tip of the tweezer as you use the pinch technique, it helps to not break up the fans, due to unsteady hand movement.

VOLUME LASH FANS ISSUES AND TIPS
Does your eyelash fan fall apart when you take them with your tweezers? Why does this happen? Most outrun it's because your lash tweezers are too tight and rigid, and you are holding it too close.
In addition, the direction of the lash fan is essential. To achieve the perfect lash fans, I like to tilt the fan slightly to the side while making it. It helps me make more perfect fans and helps significantly with symmetry.
The direction of the lash fan is responsible for the following moments:
- How perfect your lash line will look
- If your lash line with be evenly full
- How clean your work will look ⠀
Frequent problems in a lash fan formation, and why do they happen?
- The fans are open too wide
- The fans collapse
- The fans are too narrow
- And many others
Ideally, the more perfect your lash fans, the more excellent will be your lash line and the cleaner your work will look.
I release the lash, tweezers lightly, and dip the leg of the fans into the lash glue. What happens in that case? The lash fans come together. Additional top for good retention, make sure that you have a well-attached eyelash extension when applying the extension.

An extension that is misapplied has a small probability of surviving. The eyelash extension and the natural lash base should be flat against each other. It will provide a secure connection and extensions that last longer. Sometimes it's not your glue that's creating premature fallout. It could also be a problem with the attachment.
Making fans as a lash artist is one of the most challenging aspects of the craft. You should practice for at least 1 hour per day (every day) until you get it.

HOW TO MAKE LASH FANS WITH SHORTER LENGTHS?
For inner corners and shorter lashes, it's best always to use shorter lengths such as 4mm-5mm-6mm. Ideally. It will ensure a more uniform lash set and ensure that your client's lash integrity remains intact. Long and heavy lashes will damage your client's lashes and won't look as nice. Therefore, always keep this in mind.

HOW DO I BECOME BETTER AT VOLUME LASHES?
As you can see, my first lash fans were good from far, but far from good.
It might be frustrating that you will not have perfect-looking lash fans, and I am telling you that it's okay. I would constantly reassure you that doing your lash fans takes time to master.
Be easy on yourself, with consistent practice and patience, and you will indeed have the result of the kind of fans you are aiming for.
TIPS AND TRICKS TO MASTER LASH FANS MAKING
When I realized what a big difference this makes, I couldn't believe I didn't do this before.
Brush out those lashes before working with them. It makes a significant difference in how easy the fans fan out.
If you struggle with making fans, especially if they don't open as quickly as you would like, I strongly recommend trying this. It takes 5 seconds and makes a big difference.

LEARN TO HOLD YOUR TWEEZERS PROPERLY
This method allows your wrist to be in a natural position that prevents fatigue and injury and gives you even tension on the tweezer for gripping the lash fans.

We recommend practicing this grip because mastering a new technique can be uncomfortable at first.
When it comes to tweezers, positioning is entirely a matter of personal preference. Nevertheless, poor tweezer posture can cause terrible pain and discomfort when you have back-to-back clients all day. Most lash artists, including myself, hold the tweezer incorrectly most of the time.
These blunders will cause significant discomfort and joint ache to a lash artist who only works with basic sets.
If the lash artist is working with volume and mega volume sets, however, poor finger positioning on the lash tweezer will directly impact the lash artist's ability to make lash fans and apply them to the client's lashes.

When making lash fans and working with new tweezers, mark the sweet spot with a marker. Every tweezer will have a different one. It will help to have that reminder.
