Is Velour beginner friendly?

While lash lift processing times depend primarily on the density and texture of the client's lashes, a timer should only ever be your baseline. It is crucial to follow the guidelines on your product package while using your own critical intuition to determine when the hair is truly ready.

To guarantee a flawless, damage-free curl, perform a manual flexibility check 30 to 60 seconds before your estimated processing time is up:

The Test: Use your isolating tweezers to gently lift a single lash off the shield and press it back on itself.

The "Stiff C" (Needs More Time): If the lash resists your tweezers, feels rigid, or springs back into a rounded "C" shape, the structure hasn't fully relaxed. Let it process a little longer.

The "Pliable V" (Ready to Remove): If the lash is completely cooperative, yielding easily into a crisp, sharp "V" shape, it is perfectly processed. Cleanse the solution off immediately.

Product packaging gives you the baseline, but lash texture, density, and your own professional judgment determine the perfect finish.

Timing Rule: Test the lashes 30–60 seconds before your timer ends to prevent over-processing.

Action: Lift one lash from the silicone shield and gently fold it back.

If it resists / stays rounded (C-Shape): The bonds are still breaking down. Leave it on.

If it yields / folds easily (V-Shape): The hair is perfectly relaxed. Wipe immediately.

How long does one bottle last?

When adding powder to the cysteamine system, adjust timings accordingly. You may need to add an additional 1-3 min.

Why am I not getting 8-week retention?

Shave off 1–2 minutes if:

The client has a history of prior lash lifts.

The lashes are tinted or color-treated.

Your workspace is running warm (warmth speeds up the chemical reaction).

Add 1–2 minutes if:

The lashes are coarse, thick, or have a strong downward growth pattern.

Your workspace is on the cooler side (cold slows down the process).

How should I store my adhesive?

Because this formulation utilizes a cystamine-based system, an intermediate "step 1.5" is completely unnecessary. The lifting lotion elevates the hair's pH level incredibly gently, which drastically minimizes the risk of over-processing or frying delicate lash tips. Furthermore, because the neutralizing step (Step 2) is designed to fully balance and reset the hair, adding a step 1.5 offers absolutely no extra benefit or protection to the lashes.
