WHAT IS LASH MAPPING?

Lash mapping is a methodical approach that allows lash artists to strategically plan the placement of lash extensions based on their client's eye shape, natural lashes, and desired outcomes. It involves mapping out different lash lengths, curls, and thicknesses to achieve a customized and balanced look. By tailoring the lash look to each client, you can accentuate their unique features and create a stunning, natural-looking result.

Open eye lashes are perfect for making a statement at any event—they'll turn heads wherever you go! But if you want something even more striking, try wet look lashes instead. This style is great because it adds volume and length to your client's lashes without leaving them looking overly heavy or clumpy. It also mimics how the lashes will look once wet—just like you've gotten out of the shower or after swimming!

HOW TO ACHIEVE THE WET EYELASH LOOK: TECHNIQUE #1

To start, you can use flower cups or adhesive rings. Another option is to use 0.03 lashes, which are lighter than classic lashes. Avoid using classic lashes if you want to create a wet effect.

Grab some lashes using your curved tweezer or your preferred tweezer shape. Make sure you have a good-grip tweezer for better control.

For the wet lash effect, you'll need a couple of lashes. You can choose to make them thick or light, depending on your preference.

On the other hand, some lash artists prefer a very light look without creating a fan effect. You can make the lashes appear spikey or similar to a classic lash base.

To create spikes, place the lash base in the flower cup and slide it through. Just pull the lashes out and slide them into the flower cup. It's as simple as that.

Here's a tip: Pinch the lash with your tweezer to ensure that the ends are securely stuck together.

HOW TO ACHIEVE THE WET EYELASH LOOK: TECHNIQUE #2

If you want to achieve a wet eyelash look, there's a second technique you can try. You'll need a glue aid for this method, which helps speed up the drying time of lash adhesives that aren't curing properly due to low humidity. It's a handy tool to have if your lash bond takes too long to dry and you want to speed things up.

When working in high humidity environments, you won't need a glue aid because the adhesives will naturally dry faster due to the moisture in the air. Using a glue aid can help resolve any temperature and humidity issues you might have in your lash room.

To create the wet look, apply the glue aid to the lash base and run it through the lashes.

Use a small micro swab to gently wipe the entire lash line, making it slightly wet. Then, take your tweezers and carefully pull at the areas where there are small indentations. It's like there's a tiny crack where you can grab and pull.

Next, place the lash on top of a flower cup. Dip it in adhesive and slide it through the cup, as if you're crystallizing it. The adhesive will harden, maintaining its shape. When you're ready to apply it to the natural lashes, dip it in a small amount of glue and place it, ensuring it stays in place.

Remember to achieve a classic lash look and don't be afraid to add more lashes if you prefer a fuller lash style. Some lash artists worry that thicker lashes might look unnatural or dramatic, but it's a matter of personal preference.

Experiment with this technique and find what works best for you to achieve that desired wet lash effect.

IDEAL LASH WEIGHTS FOR WET LOOK LASHES

When it comes to achieving the wet lash effect, lash weight plays a crucial role. For optimal results, lash artists often prefer using 0.05 and 0.03 lashes. Here's why these lash weights are ideal for creating the wet look:

0.05 Lashes

0.05 are slightly thicker than the average lash extensions, making them perfect for adding volume and drama to the lashes. These lashes provide a noticeable impact, adding depth and fullness while maintaining a natural appearance. With their slightly heavier weight, 0.05 lashes contribute to the wet look by creating a lustrous and intensified effect.

0.03 Lashes

For a more delicate and subtle wet lash effect, lash artists often opt for 0.03 lashes. These lashes are exceptionally lightweight, allowing for a wispy and feathery look. With their thinner diameter, 0.03 lashes provide a softer and more natural appearance while still achieving the wet look. They create a stunning, fluttery effect that can elevate any lash style.
