Speed Lashing: How To Complete A Full Set Of Volume Lash Extensions Faster

LASH TIP #1 HAVE A HYGROMETER

As the temperature and weather change, your glue might start misbehaving. Using a hydrometer can help you with these issues and be your reference point.

LASH TIP #2 USE HIGH-QUALITY TWEEZERS

Get the best eyelash tweezers, especially if you are doing volume lashes that are not too heavy on your fingers and allow you to work faster and comfortably to avoid hand fatigue.

LASH TIP #3 YOU CAN USE A GLUE AID

The glue aid can help you when your lash fans seem to be closing instead of remaining open, and it will speed up your adhesive if you are working with a relatively slow one.

Just apply the glue aid to the strip of the lashes before you start working and making fans. It will speed up the process and make the lashes soft, and you can work faster.

Additionally, make sure you use a lash primer for the client's lashes. It will make your work faster, and it can also help with retention.

LASH TIP #4 USE FAST-DRYING ADHESIVE

You usually need to have an adhesive that is at least 1 second (if not 0.05 sec)

If you have an adhesive that is too slow, it will slow you down tremendously.

Many lash artists tend to continue using 2-sec drying time adhesive even after their timing has improved just because that's where they feel most comfortable.

After you've been a lash artist for at least six months, if you have a lot of clients a week, your timing should improve, especially if you are doing volume more often to your clients, you should switch to 0.05 to 1 sec drying time adhesive.

Also, if you use an adhesive that is too slow, your fans will close, and you're going to get frustrated because you're trying to apply that fan on the natural lash, and the fan is closing on you. It is taking longer to dry.

LASH TIP #5 PRACTICE ON A MANNEQUIN AND A SPONGE

Ensure that you practice on a lash mannequin or a sponge. Practice is the key to becoming faster or improving your speed!

You need to practice the micro-movements of the application, the isolation, and the fan making. Doing this every day for an hour or two will make a massive difference in your speed.

LASH TIP #6 YOU CAN USE EASY FAN LASHES

Easy fan volume lashes are for lash artists who want to speed up the process of creating a custom volume lash set. Thanks to the unique adhesive label strip, the fan will not separate at the bottom, allowing you to create the perfect fan in seconds.

There is some criticism when using easy fans because the base is square; however, there is a technique to fix this.

If you do not like the square base on the easy fan, what you could do is have a glue cup with a slit. Slip the bottom of the fan into it (the slit) after dipping the lash in the glue or before, and it will ensure that it is no longer square.

LASH TIP #7 USE EYELASH TAPING

Use tape to separate lower lashes as you work on them when working on the inner corners since it will help you envision the lashes. You will spend much less time looking for the exact lashes to put the extension on, saving you time and making a significant difference in your timing.

LASH TIP #8 USE LASH MAPS

It is essential as a beginner, mainly if you are not used to different lash curls, lengths, styles that you're trying on your clients to do lash mapping.

Also, it's a lot easier and removes a lot of the guesswork from your set, especially if you're getting lost, forgetting, or thinking about many things. It helps a lot and allows you to work faster.

CONCLUSION

Depending on how long and what kind of eyelash set you use, these tips should save you at least 20 to 45 minutes. If you have five clients every day, it might save you at least 2 hours, if not 1.

If properly cared for, volume lashes, like all lash extensions, should last as long as your natural lash cycle. It usually takes 4 to 6 weeks for this to happen. To keep the lashes from seeming patchy as they grow out, filling in every 2 to 3 weeks is recommended.
