WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT EYELASH EXTENSION STYLES?

It is essential, especially if you are a lash artist, to know the different eyelash extensions. The most basic style of lash extension is the classic.

CLASSIC LASHES

One lash extension is attached to 1 natural lash in classic eyelashes. It's not a fan as opposed to volume lashes. The diameter of classic eyelashes can be anywhere between 0.10 to 0.18.

You can play around with classic eyelashes. There are no hard or fast rules about what you can and can't do with classic.

If you are a beginner lash artist and starting classic lashes, do not feel limited, you can use colored lashes, but be sure to use clear adhesive because that works best with classic colored lashes.

For classic lashes, you can use any appropriate adhesive for your humidity, temperature, and speed.

You can also do wisps for classic lashes, and you can experiment with different lash mapping styles like cat eye, dolly eye, squirrel, to mention a few.

It usually takes 1.5 to 2 hours to apply classic lashes. It will not add much volume but will add length and provide an even lash line that opens up the eye of your clients.

The kinds of clients who like the classic look are those:

  • Mature clients
  • Who works in the corporate world
  • Clients who want a light mascara look

VOLUME LASHES

Volume lash extensions are created using lash fans, you can either do handmade or premade. The lash application usually takes 2 to 4 hours. This look is a bit more full compared to classic lashes. You can do wispy lashes with volume, you can have anywhere from 3D, 4D, 5D, 6D, and 7D. 8D is already considered as a mega volume set.

HYBRID LASHES

Hybrid lash extensions are a trendy look in the lash industry today. It's a blend of eyelash styles between classic and volume lashes. It doesn't have to be a perfect 50/50 mix of classic/volume. This look is ideal for clients who want something in between. A complete hybrid set usually takes 2 to 3 hours. For a refill, it takes more or less an hour.

There are many advantages when using hybrid lashes, and each provides a unique finish. This lash technique gives your client a dark volume set of lashes. If the natural lashes are thin, hybrid lashes will create a fuller look to fill in any gaps. Classic lashes can make natural lashes with low density appear sparse. Combining these fantastic lash techniques will give your client a beautiful lash set.

MEGA VOLUME LASHES

When you use larger fans, anything from 8D and above your diameter should be less than 0.18. Mega volume lashes are different from volume by the number of lashes used to create the fan and the diameter of the lashes. 2 to 5 lashes with diameters ranging from 0.05 to 0.07 mm will be used for the volume fan. You'll use 6 to 16 lash extensions with diameters ranging from 0.03 to 0.05 mm for the mega volume fan.

Wispy lash extension is a method in which a lash fan is created with 2 to 6 lashes and then placed with alternate lash lengths, giving the illusion of false strip lashes and the Kardashian look. The whole Wispy volume lash extensions set is ideal for clients who want a strip lash style.

It's best defined as lashing freestyle because it combines lashing techniques, lash types, and forms. Lashing professionals create a spikey effect with uneven lash extensions using different lash lengths that gradually rise and fall over the eyes.
