Applying lash extensions is an art that demands a great deal of attention and precision, as any lash expert knows. It's critical to get the application properly, as even a minor error might have severe implications.
You want to avoid applying the lashes too far above the lash line, and you also want to make sure that you're not attaching them too close to the eye itself. The perfect eyelash extension placement is right in between and perfectly balances all your client's features.
WORK ON IMPROVING LASH DIRECTION
The ways you apply the extensions to natural lashes will have a significant impact on the overall look of your set.
Naturally, there is no cookie-cutter solution that will fit all sets. However, you should look at the clients as a whole in order to evaluate their features and decide which direction you should work on.
Or simply to achieve particular lash style
THERE ARE FOR WAYS OF DIRECTING THE LASH EXTENSION PLACEMENT
1. Slanted direction outwards
2. Slanted inwards
3. Straight placement
4. Combined directions
TIP: After applying the lash fan direct it at the same angle the other fans are facing. After applying each fan, you can placed neatly right next to the fan next to it. This helps overall direction of the set.
LET'S CONSIDER THIS EXAMPLE:
If you direct the lashes towards the outer corners of your client's eyes, you will emphasize how far apart her eyes are, and the end result will be less than ideal.
If you make the lash direction straight or slightly inclined inwards towards the nose, on the other hand, you'll get the reverse effect. Because of the balanced symmetry of her features, the clients will be more appreciative of your total effort.
LET'S TAKE ANOTHER EXAMPLE:
A client with slanted eyes, in order to give a more open wider look to the client’s eyes you can work on straightening the direction.
Another important factor is the distance between the eyelid and the lash extension. If it is bigger then 0.5 cm, it is more difficult to keep the perfect direction of your lash set, because the lashes will naturally start dropping downwards and it will look uneven and messy in a week after the clients leave from your appointment.
And furthermore, another mistake that will prevent you from having the perfect direction is being seated in the wrong position in relation to the client.
It will be tough to reach the inner corners of the client's eyes if you are situated too far away. It's critical that the lash artist be situated near enough to the client to reach the inner corners without difficulty. It's also critical to avoid resting your elbows on the lash table. They should be able to move about freely without resting their backs on the table.
Ensure your hands have optimal support when you are lashing. If your hands are shaking you will not be able to achieve the desired direction.
Lastly, how can you assess your performance and determine whether you've mastered the direction of your lash sets? This indicates a mistake in direction if you observe any lashes crisscrossing. This is also a direction error if you see open spaces in your lash line.
Sometimes, it can be sufficient to remove 3-4 lashes that were placed incorrectly and place them properly. This will greatly improve your lashes overall look. Don’t rush, I encourage you to take your time, and explain to your clients that if they want perfect lashes, they need to be patient.
In order to achieve a nice direction with your lash sets the angles don’t all need to be the same. To get that nice wing effect, your inner corners should be straight at 90 degrees.
As you continue your set outwards you can start decreasing the angle the lash fan is pointed, in the middle to the outer corner of the eye the angle you will be utilizing is 45- 30 degrees.
To achieve the wing effect, the final outside corners will be laid flat at 180 degrees. Keep in mind that this is only one type of route you can go in; there are plenty more to discover.
HOW CAN YOU IMPROVE THE DIRECTION OF YOUR LASH WORK?
The direction of your lash extensions work is essential, as it can make or break the final result. You can improve the direction of your lash extension work by following these simple steps:
TIPS FOR LASH DIRECTION
Make sure the extension is at the same distance from the eyelid as the natural lash. It should be between 0.5 and 0.6 mm thick.
When starting a fresh set of lash extensions, it's crucial to consider how you'll angle/point them out to the sides.
The angle placement example: For the inner part of the eye; angle of 3-4 degrees. For the central part; angle of 5 to 7 degrees. For the outer part; almost parallel to the eyelid.
Don't touch the extension for at least 30 seconds after you've attached it to avoid ruining the direction of the freshly glued extension, switch to a different location or the other eye instead of moving on to the next lash.
PROPER EYELASH EXTENSION PLACEMENT
Extensions should be applied along the lash line, 0.5mm to 0.1mm away from the skin and parallel to the natural lash. Two complications can arise if the extensions are not precisely put at the required distance.
To begin with, you'll be too far out along the natural lash, resulting in an obvious gap. This will give the impression that the client has undergone 2 to 3 weeks of lash growth and need infills.
Your client may encounter the reverse problem if the extension is put too close to the skin. Every time the client opens and closes their eye, the lash will touch. They'll feel as if something is rubbing in their eyes even when they blink.
This can be exceedingly irritating, and it can even cause swelling, redness, and puffiness around the eyes.
Poor eyelash application can result in a variety of problems for the eye area and the skin around it. It's critical to complete your reading and have the proper expertise in lash application to avoid causing major injury.
MISTAKES IN LASH DIRECTION: HOW TO AVOID IT?
The multi-directional application of eyelash extensions is the first error. It happens when you don't apply the eyelash extensions in a specific order. It'll be easier to work with if your client has straight natural lashes, but what about those who have uneven eyelash growth?
BRUSH YOUR EYELASHES AND HAVE A GOOD LOOK AT THEM
You should look above the middle of the eyelash – at the tips, not at the base. Eyelashes should be aligned, if they look at each other or cross each other – some eyelashes are directed incorrectly.
GAPS HELP TO UNDERSTAND THAT THERE'S A PROBLEM WITH THE DIRECTION
If the native lashes before the build-up were without any gaps, this indicates that the lashes in this area aren’t evenly tilted.
TAKING AWAY THE OVERLAPPING FANS IS ANOTHER APPROACH TO UNCOVER YOUR FAULTS
The tips of the eyelashes will always be crossed as a result of them. Even if you simply have 3 to 4 such fans, your work will appear sloppy.

Even people with naturally curling lashes are looking for ways to look gorgeous, no matter what sort of lashes they have. I will give you some tips on how to spot coarse, curled lashes and how to apply lash extensions to them flawlessly every time.
Curly lashes are appealing because they are natural, but applying lash extensions to them can be tricky. The lash curl has a natural stunning lift, however there are stray curls coming in different directions on these lashes.
PLACE YOUR CLIENT IN THE BEST POSSIBLE LIGHT
The client should be positioned so that the lash curl's base can be easily seen.
CHOOSE THE RIGHT TWEEZERS FOR ISOLATION
When it comes to size, isolation and measurement are crucial. A designed ruler on the eyelash tweezers allows you to accurately measure the length of your client's lashes.
WHEN IT COMES TO COARSE, CURLING LASHES, BE CAUTIOUS
Having a large selection of lash extensions allows you to cater to clients who have natural lashes of various lengths, curls, and thicknesses.
USE A WARM EYELASH CURLER IF NECESSARY
Before applying the extensions, straighten the client's lashes with a heated eyelash curler.
