Secrets That You Should Know About Cat Eyelashes
Cat eyelash extensions are a staple of the lash industry, and it is no surprise that they are so popular. These lash extensions can be applied to give your client a very natural look, or they can be used to create a dramatic cat eye.
There are many different styles of cat lashes, so the lash artist needs to know how to apply them correctly to achieve the desired look.
The process of applying cat eyelashes is similar to the way you would apply regular eyelash extensions. The only difference is that the extensions are placed in a way that creates the cat eye effect at the outer corner of the eye.

WHAT IS CAT EYE LASH EXTENSIONS?
Cat eyes are lashes that have a sharp angle at their tips. Sometimes, they are also called almond or tapered lashes because they get longer towards the outer corners of the eyes and shorter towards the inner corners – just like an almond!
Some people call them baby doll lashes because they are very soft and look very natural while making the eyes look bigger than they are.

Cat eyelashes are one of the most popular looks in the beauty industry. The cat eye extends the natural lash line, so it's great for clients who want a more dramatic look. It's ideal for clients with smaller eyes, making their eyes appear larger and brighter.

WHAT EYE SHAPE IS THE BEST FOR CAT EYELASH EXTENSIONS?
With round eyes, a cat eye or soft cat eye shape works best to give a more almond shape.
PRO TIP: Use a very light curl, such as a B or C curl or a J curl. Because the client's eyes are already so expressive, avoiding curls that make them appear even bigger and rounder is crucial.
Avoid using long lengths on this eye shape because it will emphasize the client's round eyes.
If you have a client with deep-set eyes, it will enhance or make them appear larger and less shadowy. Client with doll eye shape is also perfect for cat eyelashes.
PRO TIP: Deep-set eyes are an eye shape for most people. Their eyes appear larger and are positioned deeper in the eye socket, giving the impression of a higher brow bone.
Many people with deep-set eyes wish to brighten their eyes or make them appear larger and less gloomy.
To fully emphasize the client's eye shape and reduce shadowing, you can use strong curls like D, CC, and L + and M curls.
The classic mapping and doll eye mapping are the best mapping options for this eye shape. The other mappings are equally acceptable, but in our experience, these work best.

HOW DO YOU DO THE CAT EYE MAP?
Cat eyelashes are created by combining lengths of lashes ranging from shortest to longest in the inner to center of the lash and gradually getting longer on the outer corner.
Cat eye mapping has shorter lashes that gradually lengthen to long lashes on the corner of the eyes, which replicates the shape of winged eyeliner.
When applying cat eyelash extensions, you want to start at the inner corner of the client's eye and work your way out towards the outer corner.
This mapping gives the eyes a longer look and helps the face appear smaller.
C and D curls are used to create a regular cat eye. L and L+ curls work well for a more intense cat-eye look.
Up to seven different lengths are needed for the application.

Here's another example:
To achieve this cat eye lash look, start with shorter lengths (5-6mm) in the inner corner, and gradually increase to longer lengths, up to 12mm, on the outer corner. This mapping is perfect for creating that winged cat eye effect because it makes the eyes look lifted and elongated.
The curls used, like C and L curls, add to this effect by giving a natural lift and extra definition, especially at the outer corners. This combination of lengths and curls enhances the cat eye style, making it ideal for clients who want that flirty, elongated look.

HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT LASH STYLE FOR YOUR CLIENT'S EYE SHAPE?
If you're a lash artist, chances are you've been asked this question before: "Which shape of lash is best for my eyes?" There's no one right answer, but there are a few guidelines that can help you figure out which shape will work best for your clients.
Close set eyes can be enhanced with cat and squirrel lash lashes. These styles give your client a natural look while adding volume and length to their lashes.
Wide set eyes work well with dolly and squirrel lashes. This gives them a more dramatic look without being too overpowering.
Protruding eyes should be enhanced with squirrel and cat lashes. The drama of these lash styles will balance out the protruding effect of the eye shape.
Round eyes are best suited for squirrel and cat lashes. These styles are often more delicate and look best on square faces too!
Monolid eyes can work well with either natural, squirrel, or dolly lashes. Both styles will enhance the eye shape, so it's up to you as the lash artist to decide which type of lash looks best with your client's facial features.
For almond-shaped eyes, natural, squirrel, and dolly lashes all work well. Depending on how deep your client's eye sockets are, you might want to go with a fuller style like natural or squirrel lashes—or even a thick set of cat eyelashes!
If your client has upturned eyes, you'll want to choose a lash style that will bring out the natural beauty of their eyes. Natural lash styles are great for this, as they look very natural and help to highlight the color and shape of the eye. Cat lashes are also a good choice, as they give a more dramatic look than natural ones but retain some of their softness.
If you're working with clients with downturned eyes, you'll want to focus more on bringing out the shape of their eyes. Squirrel lashes are great for this, as they help to create a more dramatic appearance and give an illusion of depth in the eye socket—this can be helpful for clients with smaller eyes or dark skin tones. You can also use cat lashes to bring out this effect even further or dolly lashes if your client has larger eyes or lighter skin tones!
Here's how to tell which style will look best on your client's face:
Let's start with the oval. Oval-shaped faces are very natural, so it's important to keep the look that way by going for a natural lash style like a squirrel. Squirrel lashes also add a lot of length and volume to your client's lashes, which is perfect for an oval face shape because it will make the eyes appear bigger and more open. If your client wants something more dramatic-looking, they should go with a dolly!
Next up, we have hearts. Your client can choose between natural or squirrel. If they want something subtle but still noticeable, go with a squirrel!
Round: Round face shapes are the most common face shape and are best suited for natural lash style. The round shape is wide at the cheekbones and narrows toward the chin. Round faces often have a full or rounded jawline and eyes that are close together. They can look like they have big eyes because the cheeks are so high. Lashes that are too long can make the eyes look smaller.
Round faces with short eyelashes should try a more natural style like a dolly or soft curls to balance out their features. They should avoid lash styles that are too dramatic or have a lot of volume because they will make it harder for them to open their eyes wide enough!
Square: Square face shapes are angular faces. They tend to be slim but have broad foreheads and narrow chins, making it hard for them to show off their features! Squares can pull off any style of lashes, but they would do well with a more dramatic style like the cat eye or squirrel! Spikes can also work on square faces because they draw attention back toward the eyes!
Diamond-shaped faces are perfect for natural lashes. This shape is characterized by its sharp angle at the cheekbones, which means that a dolly lash style would look perfect on a diamond face. The dolly style has a slight curve in the middle, which makes it ideal for those with smaller eyes.
Long faces are perfect for cat and squirrel lash styles. This face shape is characterized by having a longer length than width, so they should avoid styles with an elongated curl or length—this will make their eyes appear even longer! Instead, they should choose styles with more volume, or like cat or squirrel.

CONCLUSION
Cat eyelashes are a specific lash style that curls up toward the outer corner of the eyes, creating the illusion of a cat's eye. It is also called cateyes, cat eyes, or feline eyes. These extensions are often used as an alternative to wearing mascara and give a natural-looking effect that mimics the natural lashes but with added volume and length.
They are characterized by the natural curve that makes the eyes look bigger, bolder and sexier.
