Proven Ways To Get You More Clients As A Lash Artist And Raise Your Prices

One of the most common questions that I get from lash artists is "How do I build my lash business faster to get more clients?" And "How can I raise my prices without getting a backlash?".

I always give the same answer - you have to do it yourself!

You know what it's like as a lash tech. You spend a lot of time prepping your workstation and yourself. You spend hours on each client, making sure they have the perfect look. And then you get paid very little in return.

Today, I’m going to share with you some proven tips on how to build your lash business faster in order to get more clients and charge what you are worth.

Ready to learn how to get more clients? Awesome! Let’s get started.

THERE IS NO BETTER MARKETING THAN A HAPPY LASH CLIENT

There are lots of ways to market your lash business.

You could go on Instagram and post pictures of amazing lash sets, or you could make a YouTube video showing how to do a certain type of lash application. But the best way to get clients?

Make sure your clients are happy.

When people are happy with their lashes, they tell their friends. When they're not happy, they don't. And that's why we say: there is no better marketing than a happy lash client!

Ways to Market your Lash Business

Lashes, Velour Lash Adhesive, Incredible Retention Primer, and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.

Your clients are the only ones who will talk you up to their friends and family, and they're the only ones who can convince other people to book appointments with you. So, it's really important that you treat your clients well!

You want them to feel like they've made a good choice in booking with you, and to walk away feeling that they got what they paid for.

POST REGULARLY TO YOUR INSTAGRAM FEED AND STORIES

If you want to attract more clients, you need to have a social media presence. Now, this doesn't mean that you have to be on every single platform out there. If you're a lash artist, for example, I would recommend Instagram. Posting regularly not only helps keep your followers engaged but also gives them an idea of what your studio is like.

If you want clients to book appointments with you, then post regularly and consistently. This will help build trust with your potential customers and make them feel more comfortable booking with you.

How Often to Post to Social Media

I know this might sound like a no-brainer but we still see many businesses that don't post regularly.

Why is this? I think it's because they don't know what to post or they just don't think it's worth the effort because they don't get a lot of engagement on social media (or maybe they do). These businesses are missing out on so many opportunities to get new clients!

Instagram: Your Visual Portfolio

Your potential clients are scrolling through Instagram, looking for their next lash artist. Make sure you are on their radar by:

  • Before-and-After Photos: Showcase your skills with high-quality before-and-after pictures of your work. Ensure good lighting and consistency in photo angles.
  • Behind-the-Scenes Content: Share videos or images of your workspace, your process, and the products you use. This humanizes your brand and builds trust.
  • Client Testimonials: Post feedback from satisfied clients, especially those showcasing the longevity and quality of your work.
  • Engaging Stories: Use Instagram Stories to share time-limited offers, quick client transformations, or answer FAQs via Q&A sessions.

ADDRESSING CLIENT CONCERNS AND COMPLAINTS AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN

As a lash artist, you have to be able to address your client's concerns and complaints as quickly as possible.

Do you know that feeling when you get a message from a client telling you that your services were subpar? It's not fun. But the worst part is that now their bad experience is hanging over your head and affecting every other client who comes through the door.

The best way to handle these types of situations is to address them immediately and put measures in place to ensure it doesn't happen again. Remember to always offer top-notch customer service.

How do you handle customer complaints quickly

  • Lash Irritation: If a client reports irritation, respond empathetically, ask them to come in for a check-up, and offer a soothing aftercare product.
  • Lash Fall-Out: If a client is concerned about lash fall-out, assure them some fall-out is normal but offer a free touch-up if it’s within your policy.
  • Aftercare Confusion: Clients may not always follow aftercare instructions. Reiterate the importance of proper aftercare and provide clear written instructions.

LASH REFERRAL PROGRAM

Want to get more clients and raise your prices? Offer a referral discount!

Clients are always looking for a good deal, and they're even more likely to spread the word if it's easier than ever to do so. So when you offer a referral discount, they're not only happy to pay less for their lashes—they'll be happy to share the news with their friends.

And when their friends see how much they love their lashes, it's easy for them to make an appointment with you!

Bring a friend Lash deal

  • Loyalty Points: Implement a point system where clients can earn points for every referral, redeemable against services or products.
  • Referral Gifts: Send a small thank-you gift, like a lash care kit, to clients who refer new customers to your business.

OFFER NEW, EXCITING SERVICES ASIDE FROM LASH EXTENSIONS

The best way to get more clients as a lash artist is to offer new, exciting services aside from lash extensions.

Lash artists can start by offering lash lifting, eyebrow threading, eyebrow tinting, or brow waxing as part of their service. This will allow them to increase their clientele by attracting people who are seeking these services.

Understanding The Lash Lift Process

Lash & Brow Lift Kit, Rainbow Lash Lift Rods, Purple Lash Lift Tool and Lash lift Ribbons are used in this set. To shop, please click here.

The idea behind this is simple: when you offer something that's new or exciting and your client has never tried it before, they will probably want to try it. This will get them in the door and make them feel excited about their experience with you, which makes it more likely that they'll come back for more!

RAISE YOUR LASH PRICES BY 10-20 PERCENT EVERY 6 MONTHS

This is a BIG one, so we wanted to make sure it's at the top of the list. If you're not raising your prices, you're losing money!

Not only that, but if you keep charging the same amount over time, your clients won't know how much value they're getting for their money. And that means you'll lose clients as well.

But don't panic—it doesn't have to be scary to raise your prices! It's actually pretty simple. Just pick a date six months from now and then add 10-20 percent onto whatever your current price is. Then stick with that price until six months later when it's time to raise again.

How to successfully raise your lash prices

Lashes, Glitter Galaxy Collection, Incredible Retention Primer, Super Bonder and Velour Lash Adhesive used in this set. To shop, please click here.

It might seem like no one will pay more than what they're used to paying for lashes, but trust us: they will! The key is to make sure you explain how much effort goes into each lash application (and how long it takes).

That way, when it comes time for them to decide whether or not they want another service with you, they'll feel like they're getting more bang for their buck!

PRO TIP: It's okay to raise your prices! If you charge less than the average price, it's time to raise them. You will get more clients if you do because people want to be with the best of the best.

BE REALISTIC ABOUT HOW MUCH YOU CHARGE AND DON’T COMPARE YOURSELF TO OTHER LASH ARTISTS

As a lash artist, you have to be realistic about how much you charge and not compare yourself to other lash artists.

Every lash tech has its own unique style and experience. It is important that you know what your best qualities are, and then use them to your advantage when setting your prices.

It is also important that when it comes time to price your services, you do not compare yourself to other lash artists in your area.

You may be a great lash artist, but there will always be someone else who charges less than you do. You need to focus on what makes your services better than theirs, and then charge accordingly.

How to Determine Your Prices as a Lash Artist

Lashes and Velour Lash Adhesive are used in this set. To shop, please click here.

Think about how much time you're spending on marketing efforts vs actual work time so that these efforts aren't costing more than what they bring in - it's important not to overspend when starting out! Trust yourself and your skills.

PRO TIP: Your clients need to know you’re an expert, so start a YouTube channel where you can show techniques that they might not know about, and answer questions they might have. Have fun with it!

If you want to get more clients as a lash artist, you need to know how to market yourself. And that includes knowing what your competition is doing, and how you can do it better.

You can't just be the best—you have to be better than your competition, and you have to work harder than them. You have to be willing to put in the time and effort.
