How To Sell Lash Extension Aftercare

by Michelle Rebay on Aug 01 2021
As lash artists, we know that the secret to long-lasting, beautiful lash extensions isn’t just in the application—it's in the aftercare. But how do we communicate the importance of aftercare to our clients in a way that’s engaging and makes them see its true value? Selling aftercare products effectively is an art, and mastering it can boost client retention, satisfaction, and, of course, revenue. Let’s dive into how you can make lash extension aftercare a natural extension of your service. Lash Foam is used in this set. To shop, please click here.   New to lash photo editing? We've got you covered with our Free Lash Editing Tutorial. Click here to learn more!   Why Aftercare Is Essential Before we can sell, we need to believe in the importance of what we’re offering. Lash aftercare is crucial for: Lash Health: Proper aftercare helps maintain natural lash integrity. Retention: Clean, well-maintained lashes hold extensions longer. Client Confidence: Healthy lashes mean clients come back feeling good about their lash investment. When you sell aftercare, you’re not just upselling products—you’re providing a solution to better retention and overall client satisfaction. If our clients are thrilled with how long their lashes last, they’re coming back, and they’re telling their friends.  Lash Foam is used in this set. To shop, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   How to Approach Aftercare Sales Without Feeling "Salesy" Selling aftercare products should feel like a natural part of your client service. Here’s how we can seamlessly integrate it into the client experience: YY Brown Lashes, Ultra Crystal Bond, Super Bonder, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here. Educate During the Appointment While applying lashes, mention aftercare tips casually. For example: “I’m using this lightweight adhesive that works best when you cleanse your lashes regularly with a foaming lash cleanser.” Use visuals like a before-and-after example of someone who follows a great aftercare routine versus someone who doesn’t. A picture is worth a thousand words! Include Aftercare in Your Consultation During the consultation, when clients are fresh and eager, mention the importance of aftercare for retention and lash health. By planting the seed early, they’re more likely to see it as essential. Give them a handout or digital guide outlining the key steps, highlighting your aftercare products within that routine. Demo the Products If possible, demonstrate how to use the products at the end of their appointment. Show how simple and effective they are, and why it’s a small step for a big payoff in lash longevity. Let them feel, smell, or test a small amount of the lash cleanser or other products so they connect emotionally with the experience. Bundle Aftercare as Part of the Service Create packages that include an aftercare kit in the price of their first full set or refill. Not only does this ensure they start off on the right foot, but it also feels like added value. Offer a discount for clients who purchase a product during their appointment. Something like, “Get 10% off your aftercare kit if you buy today.” Position Aftercare as a Solution to a Problem Use real-life scenarios that resonate with clients. For instance, if they’ve had retention issues, explain how a lash cleanser can solve the problem. Offer an example like: “Clients who use this cleanser typically see better lash retention, fewer irritations, and less makeup build-up.”   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   What to Include in Your Aftercare Kit Your aftercare kit should be simple, yet effective. Here’s what we recommend for a well-rounded kit: Foaming Lash Cleanser: This is a non-negotiable for every lash client. Regular cleansing is key to great retention and lash health. Soft Brush: Help clients gently clean between their lashes. Spoolie Brushes: Regular brushing keeps lashes looking neat and prevents tangles. Aftercare Card: A quick reference guide that’s easy to follow, reminding clients of best practices. Deluxe Aftercare Kit and Lash Apron are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   PRO TIP: Many clients love the convenience of purchasing their products online. Here's how to optimize that experience: Create a Subscription Option: Offer clients the ability to get their lash cleanser shipped to them every 3 months. This makes aftercare seamless and easy for them. Highlight the Benefits: On your website or Instagram, share testimonials or before-and-after photos that highlight the difference proper aftercare makes. Run Promotions: Offer free shipping or a discount when clients buy a refill package or aftercare bundle.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   Aftercare FAQs to Share With Clients Answering common aftercare questions is a great way to remind clients why they need these products and remove any barriers to purchase. Here are a few common FAQs we can use: “Why can’t I use regular face wash on my lashes?”Regular cleansers can contain oils that break down lash adhesive, causing premature lash fallout. Our foaming lash cleanser is specifically designed for extensions—no oils, no irritation!   “How often should I clean my lashes?”Ideally, every day. Daily cleansing keeps them free from dust, dirt, and oils, which means better retention.   “Do I need to brush my lashes?”Yes! A quick daily brush keeps your lashes neat, prevents tangling, and helps them last longer.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   Post-Appointment Follow-Up Our client relationships don’t end when they walk out the door. A week after their appointment, send a follow-up message reminding them of their aftercare. Here’s an idea for a quick text or email: “Hi [Client Name], hope you're loving your lashes! Just a quick reminder to use your lash cleanser daily to keep them fresh and long-lasting. Let me know if you need a refill on any aftercare products—I’ve got you covered!”   Conclusion: We’re Not Just Selling Products—We’re Selling Results In the end, aftercare is an investment in your client’s lash health and their satisfaction with your work. By positioning aftercare as part of the lash experience, we’re not just selling products, we’re offering long-lasting results and a client experience that leaves them feeling valued and beautiful. Boosting our aftercare sales can lead to healthier lashes, more referrals, and happy clients who keep coming back—exactly what every successful lash artist needs!     Do you find this blog post helpful? You get the best of both worlds with them, which is especially suitable for clients who have sparse natural lashes. A hybrid can add a little bit of density to the lashes without going overboard with the volume lashes. Classic Lashes, Volume Lashes and Elite High Humidity Adhesive are used here. Volume Lashes, Classic Lashes and Optite Low Humidity Adhesive are used in this set. Hydro-gel Under Eye Patches is used in this set. To shop, please click here. For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   WISPY HYBRID LASH EXTENSIONS: HOW TO APPLY? To achieve a hybrid lash set, you need to use different lash curls and different lash lengths. For classic lashes, you can use a D curl 11mm. For volume fans, you can use C curl 9mm. The classic lashes need to be at least one curl up and two lengths up. The classic lashes will create a spiky effect on your lash set.   STEP #1 Start by placing the classic lashes. It helps make sure the spikes are evenly spread out within the set.   STEP #2 Fill in the gaps with your volume fans. Since the volume fans are less curly and shorter, you can still distinctly see the spikey effect from the classic lashes. Keep doing it until you fill the entire eye. And the final result is a texture of a hybrid set. The spikes should be obvious but not too overpowering.   PRO TIP: To achieve different styles, experiment with different thicknesses, lengths, and curls. The beauty of making lash sets is that there isn't just one way to do it.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   HYBRID LASHES: HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO APPLY? Hybrid lashes have a little bit of everything—volume lash fans and single classic lashes make up this lash combination. A complete full hybrid set usually lasts 2 to 3 hours. For a refill, it takes more or less an hour. Ultra Crystal Bond, Marlowe Tweezer and Malachi Tweezer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   HOW TO BRUSH HYBRID EYELASHES? STEP #1 Apply the lash brush to the top of your lash line.  STEP #2 Gently roll the brush downward, through the lashes, and out at the tips of the lashes.  STEP #3 If you still need a little more fluff, take the lash wand and brush upward from the base of the lashes.   HOW LONG DO HYBRID LASHES LAST? Like classic and volume lashes, hybrid lash extensions shed at the same rate as your natural lashes. We recommend that you come in every two weeks to keep your lash line looking full!   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   HYBRID LASH EXTENSIONS: WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS? They are the perfect balance between volume and classic lash extensions. They're less dramatic than full-volume lashes. There are many advantages when using hybrid lashes, and each provides a unique finish. This lash technique gives your client a dark volume set of lashes. If your natural lashes are thin, hybrid lashes will create a fuller look to fill in any gaps. Classic lashes can make natural lashes with low density appear sparse. Combining these two fantastic lash techniques will give your client a one-of-a-kind finish.   Volume Lashes, Classic Lashes and Elite High Humidity Adhesive are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   DID YOU KNOW? That you can use YY lashes for hybrid lash extension sets. To learn more, please click here.   CONCLUSION Hybrid eyelash extensions have risen in popularity due to celebrities such as the Kardashians seeking a combination of the definition provided by classic lashes and the volume supplied by Russian Lashes. The term "hybrid lashes" is currently one of the most popular in the world of lash extensions. This technique has been advanced by creative lash artists who want to change how they work to better meet their clients' needs. Hybrid lashes combine the best of both worlds, achieving a more natural 'messier' look that is less uniform and more similar to how natural lashes grow.If your client has tried classic lashes and wants to add a little more volume, then hybrid lashes are ideal! Because it provides a fuller lash line with the perfect blend of fullness and texture. A more texturized lash look with a volumized lash line that is less expensive than the volume.   Do you find this blog post helpful? Have you learned something? They are the most natural-looking type of lashes. They are more subtle and less dramatic than other lash styles. Classic Lashes, Ultra Crystal Bond, Incredible Retention Primer and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   They are also referred to as natural lashes. Classic Lashes, Bullet Adhesive, Incredible Retention Primer and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   CLASSIC EYELASH EXTENSIONS The classic technique involves gluing one extension to one natural lash. This method is 1 to 1 or 1:1. Classic lashes are suitable for clients with many lashes who want to lengthen them and for clients who like a subtle natural look without too much drama. Classic Lashes, Velour Lash Adhesive and Straight Isolation Tweezer are used here. To shop, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   HERE’S AN EXAMPLE OF DIFFERENT LASH STYLES: The art of lash extensions is a delicate one. It takes a lot of patience and skill to apply, and not just anybody can do it. But once you've gotten the hang of it, you can create so many different styles. Here are the 4 most common lash styles.   For Classic Lashes Thickness/diameter : 0.10 to 0.18 Density: 1:1 lashes Classic Lashes, Ultra Crystal Bond, Incredible Retention Primer and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   For Hybrid Lashes Thickness/diameter: 0.05 to 0.07 and 0.15 to 0.20 Density: Mixture of volume lashes and classic lashes (each lash fan should have no more than five lashes)   For Volume Lashes Thickness/diameter: 0.05 to 0.07 Density: 5 to 10 lashes (promade or pre-made fans) on each lash fan   For Mega Volume Lashes Thickness/Diameter: 0.03 or 0.02 Density: 10 to 15 lashes on each lash fan   For more information on the difference between classic, hybrid, volume and mega volume lashes, please click here.   WHAT IS THE BEST THICKNESS FOR CLASSIC LASHES? When it comes to creating the perfect set of lashes, understanding the nuances of thickness is crucial. Here's a breakdown to guide you in making the best choice for your clients: Classic 0.12: These are the thinnest lashes we use. Ideal for a natural look or for clients with naturally thin or weak lashes. They add length without stress. Classic 0.15: These lashes are the standard go-to for most clients. They offer a middle ground, providing a noticeable yet natural enhancement. They're great for daily wear and can suit a range of natural lash types. Classic 0.18: These are the thickest lashes we use for a classic set. They create a more pronounced lash line, perfect for clients with stronger, healthier natural lashes who want a more dramatic look.   Now, let's decode the volume numbers: 16D 0.03: '16D' means 16 lashes are fanned out from one lash, and '0.03' refers to the diameter of each individual lash in the fan. This is a lighter volume set, giving a fuller look without the heaviness. 24D 0.03 / 36D 0.03: These are high-volume sets, with 24 or 36 ultra-fine lashes in a fan, creating a fluffy and dramatic effect. These are typically used on clients who want a glamorous, standout look and have the natural lash foundation to support it. 8D 0.05 / 10D 0.05 / 12D 0.05: These numbers indicate a moderate volume with a slightly thicker lash diameter. They provide a denser look while still maintaining a soft feel. 3D 0.07 / 4D 0.07 / 6D 0.07: These are the thickest lashes used in volume sets, creating a bold and striking effect. They're less in number but give a textured look due to their thickness.   The technical aspect lies in the balance between the diameter of the lash extension and the number of lashes in a fan. It's all about enhancing the client's natural lashes without causing damage. Remember, the key to a successful lash application is not just the aesthetic appeal but maintaining the integrity of the natural lashes.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   HOW MANY LASHES DO YOU NEED FOR A CLASSIC SET? Some lash artists count the lashes to give their clients an understanding and idea of what they will get—for example, applying 80-100 lashes per eye. Some lash artists prefer to time themselves; for example, a classic set typically lasts from 1h30 -2h for a complete set. A refill usually takes less time because we are refilling the lashes that have fallen off, not starting over from scratch. Classic Lashes, Elite High Humidity Adhesive, Incredible Retention Primer and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   WHAT TYPE OF LASHES TO USE FOR CLASSIC? The most popular diameter for classic lashes is 0.15. For classic lash sets, 0.20 and 0.25 are not advised. Classic Lashes, Velour Lash Adhesive, Straight Isolation Tweezer, L Shape Tweezer, Lash Tape and Hydro Gel Under Eye Pads are used here. To shop, please click here. In the past, .25 diameters were used for classic lashes to give the lashes a fuller, denser look. Still, with innovations like pre-made fans and the technique of volume lashes that have become more sophisticated, there is no need to use 0.20 and 0.25 diameters as they are too heavy for the clients' natural lashes. Diameters of 0.10 are suitable for excellent and weak lashes, and for clients who like a natural look, 0.12 would also be a very natural and pleasing look. Diameters of 0.15 and 0.18 will be used for clients with relatively healthy lashes that want a complete full look.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.     CLASSIC LASHES: WHAT LENGTHS? With classic lashes and volume lashes, the rule of lash safety is to ensure you use a lash extension that is MAXIMUM 2-3 mm longer than the client's natural lash. If your client's lashes in the inner corners are 6mm, the lash extensions should be 8mm. If the client's lashes in the middle of the eye are 12mm, the lash extensions should not be longer than 15mm. It is a good rule to avoid damaging the client's lashes. Classic Lashes, Optite Low Humidity Adhesive and Dolphin-Shaped Curved Tweezer are used here. To shop, please click here.   How to dip classic eyelash extensions? Dip the classic lash into the middle of the adhesive. Slowly pull out the lash. Don't wipe off excess glue. It will cause retention issues.   Classic Lashes, Elite High Humidity Adhesive, and Dolphin Shaped Curved Tweezer are used here. To shop, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   CLASSIC LASHES: HOW TO APPLY THEM? If you're looking for a way to add some length and volume to your clients lashes, then classic is the perfect option! Classic lashes are created by applying one extension to one natural lash, which gives you a fuller natural look.    STEP #1 When picking up the classic lashes, place your tweezer in the middle of the lash. Not too high and not too low. Too low might cause the lash glue to go onto your lash tweezer; too high won't give you enough control over the lash. Classic Lashes, Velour Lash Adhesive and Straight Isolation Tweezer are used here. To shop, please click here.   STEP #2 If you are about to dip the lash, do it slowly. Coat about 2mm of the lash. The speed of dipping the lash into the adhesive is essential as it will determine how much glue will be on the lash extension. Classic Lashes, Velour Lash Adhesive and Straight Isolation Tweezer are used here. To shop, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   HOW TO APPLY CLASSIC LASHES? Attach the extension from the top, bottom, right or left side. It doesn't matter as long as you focus on the proper placement at the lash base. Please wait for a second or 2, depending on the speed of your adhesive, before letting it go. You can adjust the lash extension direction if you need to. Just make sure you do it quickly before your lash adhesive dries. Classic Lashes, Velour Lash Adhesive and Straight Isolation Tweezer are used here. To shop, please click here.   Application of classic lashes: Classic Lashes, Ultra Crystal Bond, Straight Isolation Tweezer, Breathable Lash Tape and Hydro-gel Under Eye Patches are used here. To shop, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   HOW TO CHECK THE RETENTION? You can do it by checking the placement of the lashes. There shouldn't be any split bases. The lashes should all be securely bonded, and there should be no lashes peeling off at the base of the eyelid. Classic Lashes 0.18 D curl 7-15mm and Optite Low Humidity Adhesive are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   CLASSIC LASHES: HOW TO REMOVE using the banana peel method? If you're a lash artist, you've probably heard of the banana peel technique. It's a way to remove the lashes safely and easily before applying new ones.   STEP #1 The easiest way to remove classic eyelash extensions is the banana peel method. One tweezer holds onto the natural lash, and the other has onto the lash extension. Hydro-Gel Under Eye Patches, Incredible Retention Primer, Lash Extension Medical Tape, Straight Isolation Tweezer and Large Tip Boot Lash Tweezer are used in this set. Classic Lashes, Velour Lash Adhesive, L Shape Tweezer, Straight Isolation Tweezer, Breathable Lash Tape and Hydro-gel Under Eye Patches are used here used here. To shop, please click here. For the right curl, we provide various lash curls and lengths. We want to educate each of you on the lash curls you can offer to your clients.    B LASH CURL This lash curl will give you the added lift while still staying fairly natural. Almost the same specification as the J curl. This has just a bit curlier. The result will still be a natural look. B curl is suitable for clients who want to look for something extra but still want to look natural.    C LASH CURL This lash curl is perhaps the most popular. It generally suits most clients because it provides the lift of a lash curler to open up the eyes. This is recommended on the slight curlier natural lash, and as a result, it will have a much stronger bond and lasting retention. The reason why most clients prefer this is as it is much curlier and it has popping effects. As for me, C curl is my go-to lashes. That is just so perfect to work with.  C curl is for your clients who are eyeing a dramatic look—added so much attitude to the look. It opens up the eyes. Well, C curl works best!   C+ LASH CURL C+ is much more curled than C, and it can also be called natural curl. It is suitable for absolutely everyone.   CC LASH CURL CC curl is our hybrid curl. It is an excellent mix between the C and D curls.    D LASH CURL D curl is used to create full dramatic looks with lashes. This curl is perfect for clients looking for more lifting and great to use with the doll eye mapping. This lash curl adds more lift than the C curl for added definition and sweep. This curl is not recommended for straight lashes and hooded eyes as it is a bit curly and might hurt your eyelids. The curliest and considered to be giving you that dramatic look. This curl would look better on the younger clients than the mature ones.    L LASH CURL The L curl has a straight bottom that transitions to and sits flat on the client's natural lash, ideal for moonlit eyes and clients with very sharp natural lashes. This lash curl is best for clients with straight lashes that tip downward. This curl gives you a dramatic effect that most clients adore. This lash curl is best for clients who have downturned eyelashes. L curl is also great for lifting those lashes and those with hooded eyes.   L+ LASH CURL This curl resembles the L curl with its sharp base but slightly curvier bend than the L curl.   M LASH CURL This curl is so new and exotic that clients are asking for it more and more. It emphasizes the client's eyes the perfect way if used correctly.  They are specially designed for an "OPEN EYE" look, with naturally straight and down. Clients with straight or downward-pointing natural lashes are ideal candidates for the M curl series.    J LASH CURL This curl is the most natural-looking, it's flat at the base, and the least curled of all the lash curls. The lash curl will lengthen your natural lashes but won't curl them significantly. This lash is perfect for individuals who want a more natural appearance. Because it looks too natural, it isn't used very often. It is recommended to be used on straight lashes to ensure longer retention. So, if your clients opt to have an eyelash extension that looks so natural, the J curl is for your girl.    For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.    CONCLUSION A classic eyelash extension is an excellent option if your client wants to add length, defined lash curls, and achieve a mascara look without applying it! Keep in mind that the size of the extensions should be no more than 2mm longer than the natural lashes of your clients. Once the application is finished, make sure they understand the importance of lash extension aftercare.   Do you find this blog post helpful? Have you learned something? Everything You Need To Know About Volume Lash Extensions

Do volume lash extensions last longer? What size lashes do you use for volume? If you're new to eyelash extensions, here's what you should know. It may take some time to learn the terminology and understand the differences. Volume lash extensions provide a complete, better-than-falsies look that adds serious glamour and drama to the client's lash look.In this blog, you will learn the difference between classic, hybrid, volume, and mega volume lashes, how to determine volume lash extensions size and weight, volume fans negative space, and more about it, but first, we will go over the volume lashes description. Volume Lashes and Optite Low Humidity Adhesive are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   New to lash photo editing? We've got you covered with our Free Lash Editing Tutorial. Click here to learn more!   WHAT ARE VOLUME LASHES? It is created by fanning several lashes and applying them to a single natural lash. This lash extension will give your clients a fuller, fluffy and dramatic look. It allows for a high level of customization to achieve the desired look.   Volume Lashes and Velour Lash Adhesive are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   CLASSIC, HYBRID (MIX) AND VOLUME LASH EXTENSIONS: WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE? If you are a beginner lash artist and new to eyelash extensions, you should know that different terms are used for other lash techniques—classic, hybrid, and volume. When it comes to placement, each technique has in common is the isolation process. It is where you take one natural lash and attach it between your isolation tweezers so that your extension doesn't get stuck to other lashes when you place it. Lashes and Velour Lash Adhesive are used here. To shop, please click here.   CLASSIC looks simple and more natural. It is applied on a one-to-one ratio, which means that one lash extension is attached to one natural lash only. The lash application typically takes 1.5 to 2 hours. Classic lashes will not add much volume but will add length and provide an even lash line that opens up the eye. HYBRID combines classic lash extensions, which is 30%, and volume lash extensions which are 70%. Hybrid gives more texture and adds volume and length to your client's lashes, resulting in a wispy look without a full volume set appearance. VOLUME can vary from a natural look that adds volume and length to a dramatic and complete look. The lashes range in thickness from 2D to 6D, and anything higher than a 4D will make your client look like she's wearing strip lashes, which is the total opposite of the natural look that classic and hybrid extensions provide. The application is made with a lash fan (premade or promade) using a tweezer of your choice. Whether or not the lash artist uses premade fans, the process usually takes 2-4 hours. For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   CLASSIC VS VOLUME LASHES Which types of lash extensions suit your clients? FOR CLASSIC LASHES Lashes are thick and long Want a more natural appearance Have more natural lashes Want to appear to be wearing mascara Want a voluminous look but have naturally thick, dense, and long lashes FOR VOLUME LASHES Natural lashes are very weak or fine Have less natural lashes Want to give the natural lashes more volume Want to come in for fills less frequently Classic Lashes, Volume Lashes and Ultra Crystal Bond are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   VOLUME LASHES AND MEGA VOLUME LASHES: WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE? The number of lashes used to create the fan and the diameter of the lashes differentiates mega volume from volume lashes. You will use 2 to 5 lashes with diameters from 0.05 to 0.07 mm for the volume fan. You will use 6 to 16 lash extensions with diameters from 0.03 to 0.05 mm for the mega volume fan.   HERE’S AN EXAMPLE   Lashes and Elite High Humidity Adhesive are used here. To shop, please click here.   Mega Volume 0.02 7-11mm D Curl and Optite Low Humidity Adhesive are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   VOLUME LASHES SIZE AND WEIGHT: HOW TO DETERMINE? The appropriate weight of a volume fan is managed by controlling two critical variables: How many eyelash extensions can be combined to make a lash fan? “D” stands for dimension The lash extensions length used to create a fan   A healthy natural lash can support a heavier volume fan than a thin natural lash. The health of the lashes should always come first. With 0.07 mm diameter extensions, you can create 3D volume fans With a 0.05 mm diameter, extensions can be used to create up to 7D volume fans With 0.03 mm diameter extensions, you can make up to 12D volume fans   The number of lashes used in a lash fan and it’s diameter have a negative relationship. For example, if the number of lashes increases, the diameter must decrease to keep the lash fan's weight constant. The number of lashes must decrease as the diameter increases. When comparing a volume fan to a single extension, negative space is the space that a single lash extension would otherwise occupy.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   VOLUME FAN NEGATIVE SPACE Compared to a single 0.15 mm extension, a volume fan made of three 0.07 mm extensions creates a lot of negative space (brown). That is the reason why this volume fan isn't heavier.   Compared to a single 0.15 mm extension, a volume fan made of seven 0.05 mm extensions creates a lot of negative space (brown). That is the reason why this volume fan isn't heavier.   Compared to a single 0.15 mm extension, a volume fan made of twelve 0.03 mm extensions creates a lot of negative space (brown). That is the reason why this volume fan isn't heavier.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   WHAT IS THE IDEAL THICKNESS FOR VOLUME LASH EXTENSIONS? Most lash artists prefer 0.07 to use. The majority of clients seeking a natural or glamorous application prefer a length of 12 mm. Volume Lashes, Ultra Crystal Bond, Marlowe Tweezer and Malachi Tweezer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   HOW TO GET DENSITY WITHOUT DAMAGING THE NATURAL LASHES? The first thing you need to do is fill the mature lashes with volume lash fans that are the longest and heaviest, complementing the client's natural lashes. After, to complete the natural lashes, fill in the teenage lashes with shorter length and lighter weight. The teenage lashes will remain within the design as they grow to a mature size. They will be replaced when the next fill is completed. Volume Lashes mix curls D, CC, and C, Velour Lash Adhesive and Multi Functional Lash Brush are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   LASH CURL: WHAT IS BEST TO USE FOR VOLUME LASHES? D curls are the most dramatic and complete look, and they will be the most visible from the front. They are also the most popular curl to use. B curl has a very natural lash curl, and it will look like natural uncurled lashes. C curl is the most widely used lash curl and is suitable for most clients.  CC curl is an excellent combination of the C and D curls.  D curl is used to achieve complete, dramatic looks. This curl is ideal for clients who want more lifting and works well with doll eye mapping. L curl has a straight base that transitions and lies flat on the client's natural lash. It is a great curl for moonlit eyes and clients with very straight natural lashes. L+ curl resembles the L curl with its strong base but slightly curvier bend than the L curl.   For more information on how to pick a lash curl for your clients, please click here.   VOLUME LASHES: HOW DO YOU APPLY? Apply fans evenly across the eyelash line, beginning at the inner corner of the eye. Fans should be applied to the client's natural eyelashes, not the eyelid tissue. As you place the fans, fluff the extension lightly to check its appearance. 0.07 C curl, L Shaped Tweezer and Ultra Crystal Bond are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   For more information on how to apply eyelash extensions step by step, please click here.   CONCLUSION Like all lash extensions, Volume Lashes should last as long as your natural lash cycle if adequately cared. It usually takes 4 to 6 weeks. Fill in is needed every 2 to 3 weeks to avoid the lashes looking patchy as they grow out.   Watch this lash extension tutorial video and learn more about volume lash extensions.   Do you find this blog post helpful? If the client is prepared correctly, the application process will go smoothly. When you begin your lashing process, conduct a thorough consultation to determine the style, length, and thickness that your client prefers. Before applying eyelashes, remove eye makeup with a water-based cleaner and dry it with a lint-free cloth. A client with a clean face will give you more time to deal with their eyelashes. It is not recommended to curl eyelashes. It is better to work on the lashes while still in their natural condition. Contact lenses must be removed during lash application to avoid discomfort and eye damage. Drinking liquids containing caffeine can cause eyelids to move, making it challenging to apply eyelashes. Excessive eye movement can lead to incorrect extensions. Limit the intake of liquids. It is advised that clients do not use the restroom frequently. Before the eyelash appointment, ask questions about your clients' allergies. In addition, for the client's safety, it is best to have them sign a waiver during the consultation. (if needed) While having a relaxing appointment, they can listen to music or a podcast. To avoid distraction and reading text messages, they must put their phone in silent mode. For the safety of every client, they should keep their eyes closed throughout the session. A fill session lasts about 40 minutes to an hour, while a full-extension process takes 2 to 3 hours. Inform your clients that they should wear comfortable clothing for the relaxing session. Straight Isolation Tweezer, Precision Volume 90 Degree Tweezer, Hydrogel Under Eye Patches, Ultra Crystal Bond, Lashes, Lash Tile are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   ARE LASH EXTENSIONS BAD FOR YOUR NATURAL EYELASHES? The beauty world is buzzing with the topic of lash extensions and one frequently asked question is, "Are they harmful to our natural lashes?" Let's clear this up. The Short Answer: No, lash extensions are not bad for your natural eyelashes, provided they are applied correctly and with care.   The Details: Professional Application: The key to safe lash extensions is in the application. If put on correctly and professionally, lash extensions will not damage your natural lashes. Always ensure that you are getting your extensions done by a certified and experienced lash artist. Choose the Right Extensions: Not all lashes are created equal. Selecting the correct length and thickness for your natural lashes is crucial. Too heavy or long extensions can strain your natural lashes, leading to potential breakage. One-by-One Application: A golden rule for applying lash extensions is to use one extension on one natural lash. This prevents the natural lashes from being weighed down or clumping together, which can cause them to break. Volume Lashes mix curls D, CC, and C, and Velour Lash Adhesive are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   HOW DO YOU APPLY EYELASH EXTENSIONS FOR BEGINNERS? Diving into the world of eyelash extensions? This beginner-friendly guide breaks down the essential steps to achieve those dreamy, fluttery lashes. From selecting the right lash style to mastering the application technique, we've got you covered. Start your lash journey with confidence and precision!   STEP #1 | WASH THE CLIENT'S EYELASHES Before starting, ensure the client's lashes are clean. Remove any makeup and oil to prevent the adhesive from breaking down. Lash Foam is used in this set. To shop, please click here.   STEP #2 | APPLY PRIMER TO THE CLIENTS LASHES Using a primer prepares the natural lashes for extensions. This ensures better retention and improved attachment of the lash extensions. Incredible Retention Primer and Hydrogel Under Eye Patches are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   STEP #3 | APPLY THE UNDER-EYE PATCHES GENTLY Place the lash patches carefully under the eyes. Avoid letting your tweezers touch the eye pads. It's important to ensure no lower lashes are stuck or glued together. Micro Foam Under Eye Patches is used in this set. To shop, please click here.   STEP #4 | MAP OUT YOUR EYELASH SET Planning or 'mapping' out the lash set helps in achieving the desired look. It allows you to work efficiently, knowing what size and type of lashes to use and where. Hydrogel Under Eye Patches and Lash Tape are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   STEP #5 | ISOLATION Many lash artists forget to use their pick-up tweezers when isolating. However, both tweezers make positioning and separating your client's tiny lashes much more accessible. When isolating with both tweezers, angle your isolation tweezer downwards towards the lashes. To provide a clean view range and make isolation simpler, slant your pick-up tweezer up, lifting and moving the lashes away. Hydrogel Under Eye Patches, Lash Tape, Velour Lash Adhesive, Cashmere Noir Collection Lashes, Lash Wisps, and Straight Isolation Tweezer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   STEP #6 | SLOWLY DIP THE LASH INTO THE GLUE Dip the extension into the adhesive while holding it by its tapered end, striking the exact balance between too much and too little glue. To avoid retention concerns, make sure you use the appropriate quantity. Cashmere Noir Collection Lashes, Lash Adhesive Cure Aid and Ultra Crystal Bond are used here. To shop, please click here.   STEP #7 | PROPERLY ISOLATE AND APPLY THE EXTENSIONS Isolate the natural lashes swipe the extension together with the natural lash. Use the wrapping technique. Coat the natural lash with the adhesive from its base to the tip, ensuring no gaps in the glue. Disperse the lash adhesive equally until it becomes smooth. Hydrogel Under Eye Patches,  Lash Tape, Velour Lash Adhesive, Cashmere Noir Collection Lashes, Lash Wisps, Precision Volume 90 Degree Tweezer and Straight Isolation Tweezer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   STEP #8 | LASH EXTENSION APPLICATION Place the lash extension onto the natural lash after swiping it with just enough adhesive to coat it on the natural lash around 1 mm from the eyelid. Continue to another region or the opposite eye, implementing extensions until you reach your goal. It becomes challenging to isolate more natural lashes; this will assist in avoiding stickies. Incredible Retention Primer, Hydrogel Under Eye Patches,  Lash Tape, Velour Lash Adhesive, Cashmere Noir Collection Lashes, and Lash Wisps are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   STEP #9 | SEPARATE THE LASHES No multiple lash extensions or natural lashes should be sticking to each other. Separate any lash extensions stuck together with the two sets of lash tweezers. Grasp and separate in a horizontal technique; this is best done even if the adhesive is dry but not completely cured. On natural lashes, never pull in the vertical route or area with any rigidity. Repeat the application and separation steps until each natural lash has been bonded to the individual lash. Incredible Retention Primer, Hydrogel Under Eye Patches,  Lash Tape, Velour Lash Adhesive, Cashmere Noir Collection Lashes and Lash Wisps are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   STEP #10 | DRY THE LASH ADHESIVE When all lash extensions have been securely bonded, allow 3 to 5 minutes for the newly adorned lashes to dry.To improve your retention, you need to use a super bonder to cure the adhesive bond. Using a lash fan, dry the lashes. Mist with distilled water, dry for 3 minutes, and check for stickies. Ultra Crystal Bond, Lashes, Lash Wisps, Incredible Retention Primer, and Super Bonder are used in this set. Here are three expert tips to ensure you achieve the perfect look every time. Opt for Dark Brown and Brown Lashes: While black lashes are a popular choice, they can sometimes appear too harsh against the light background of blonde lashes. Instead, consider using dark brown or brown lashes. They offer a softer, more natural look while still giving the desired definition and depth. Use Black Patches: Black patches can help to contrast and mask the lighter base of blonde lashes, making it easier for you to see and work on the lashes. This will also provide a clear background, helping you to ensure that every lash gets the attention it deserves. Place Extensions Closer to the Eyelid: One common challenge with blonde lashes is the possibility of light lashes peeking through beneath the extensions. To prevent this, ensure that you place the extensions closer to the eyelid. This method not only masks the natural lash more effectively but also gives a fuller appearance. Hydro-Gel Under Eye Patches is used here. To shop, please click here.    HOW DO YOU REMOVE THE EYELASH EXTENSIONS SAFELY AND CORRECTLY? Here at ThousandLashes, we are only using the best products to ensure no natural lashes will be harmed during the removal. Correct and proper aftercare is crucial for client retention and your professional reputation. Mega Lash Box, Velour Lash Adhesive, Super Bonder, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Be gentle with your eyelashes. Avoid rubbing or pulling them. After the appointment, keep the Extensions dry for about 4 to 6 hours. Keep all oil-based products away from your eyes. The oil will trigger the adhesive to break down, resulting in premature lash extension loss. Strictly no lash perming! Within 4-6 hours of lash application, no saunas, facials, or going to the pool for swimming. If you are baking, avoid sticking your head into the oven. It can singe your extensions! When putting something in or taking something out of the oven, turn your head away from it. You should never use eyelash curlers. Do not try to remove the extension on your own instead, make an appointment with your lash artist. Brush your eyelashes daily after getting extensions. Brushing solves the majority of the lash problems. If you notice something wrong with your lashes, try gently brushing them. Once the application is finished, make sure they understand the importance of lash extension aftercare.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   CONCLUSION Applying eyelash extensions might seem intricate, but with the right steps and a bit of practice, it becomes a straightforward process. Let's face it; the lash taping method can be the most challenging portion of any lash extension process! In this blog, we will be discussing the PROs of using lash patches to isolate and work with the layers of your client's lashes and taping techniques for lash extensions. Every gorgeous set of lashes should be accompanied by a happy, satisfied and comfortable client. Being a lash artist needs a high level of customer satisfaction. And besides, lash fills might take anywhere from 45 minutes and 2 hours or more for complete sets. It's essential that your client feels at ease for them to return. Clients often complain about improper tape application, which causes them pain and discomfort. When the tape is removed using traditional sticky tape, some extensions can get ripped out, causing client discomfort. Lashes, Velour Lash Adhesive and Hydro Gel Under Eye Patches are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   New to lash photo editing? We've got you covered with our Free Lash Editing Tutorial. Click here to learn more!   Today, we will go over an exciting lash taping technique using patches; this taping method for lash extensions will help you work easier, faster, and more efficiently, keeping client comfort at the top of your priority.  It is a popular application method for lash extensions, but it does require some skill and practice to master. Hydro Gel Under Eye Patches, Lash Tape, Mega Volume Lashes and Ultra Crystal Bond are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   TIP #1 MAKE SURE TO CLEANSE YOUR CLIENT'S EYES ( pre- application ) Ensure that you cleanse the client's eyes and eyelids using lash foam shampoo with a gentle cleansing formula that removes eye makeup and impurities from lashes. Ensure that the patches you apply stick very well to the client's skin.  Lash Foam is used in this set. To shop, please click here.   TIP #2 MAKE SURE YOUR CLIENT IS LOOKING UP STRAIGHT As you work with lash extension patches to isolate the layers of your client's lashes, make sure your clients are looking straight up (not backward) and that they are not talking. It will ensure that your client's comfort is taken into account and the patches are not moving. Micro Foam Under Eye Patches is used in this set. To shop, please click here.   TIP #3 KEEP A SAFE DISTANCE FROM THE WATERLINE Getting the lashes to stay down while staying away from the client's eye is one of the most challenging things. Keep a distance of at least 2-3mm between the pads and the client's waterline. Some lash pads tend to expand or "melt when exposed to moisture and heated." You must always keep the pad 2-3 mm away from the waterline to avoid this. Micro Foam Under Eye Patches is used in this set. To shop, please click here.   TIP #4 SECURE THE PATCHES PROPERLY ( if needed ) To keep down any extra lashes that may come out, apply two strips of micropore tape about an inch and a half long down the lash line. When your client closes their eyes, ask if they feel any pinching or discomfort. Then, with their eyes closed, gently tug the tape and pads to adjust, ensuring their comfort is taken into account. Gel Under Eye Patches and Breathable Tape are used in this set. TECHNIQUE #1 STEP #1 Remove the eye patches from their package, apply them hold lightly on the outer edges. Apply it to the top of the lower lashes, ensuring no contact with the waterline. Adjust the patches as needed for the client's comfort. Gel under eye patches is used in this set. To shop, please click here.   STEP #2  Take another pair of lash patches underneath the client's lashes. By ensuring the sticky part of the lash, patches are facing the eyelid. Lift the lashes onto the eyelid using the lash patches. Stick the patches onto the client's eyelid revealing the lower layer of the client's lashes. Gel under eye patches is used in this set. To shop, please click here.   STEP #3 Pull the bottom lash layer out using straight lash tweezers or isolation tweezers. Gel under eye patches and straight isolation tweezer are used in this set. You will have a much easier time working with the exposed lashes since they will be easier to view with this technique. It is an incredible hack to isolate each layer individually if you use a different mapping for your layering.  Gel under eye patches, l shape tweezer and straight isolation tweezer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   TIP: When using the lash patches, you don't need to worry about the tape pulling out the client’s lashes, as they are less sticky than traditional tape.     For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   TECHNIQUE #2 STEP #1 Apply the under-eye patches and the tape. One effective method is lashing in layers using lash tape.    STEP #1 Do the top layer first. Hydrogel Under Eye Patches and Sensitive Nexcare Skin Tape are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   STEP #2 Remove the lash tape and peel back the middle layer. Color Lashes, Bullet Adhesive, Hydrogel Under Eye Patches and Sensitive Nexcare Skin Tape are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   STEP #3 After applying extensions to all layers, carefully remove the lash tape and brush through the lashes to align them. Perform a final check to ensure uniformity and fill in any gaps for a seamless, natural look. Hydrogel Under Eye Patches and Sensitive Nexcare Skin Tape, Promade Fans, Color Lashes, Ultra Crystal Clear Bond, Incredible Retention Primer and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.     REMEMBER: It is essential to pick the correct lash tape when taping the lashes and ensure the lash tape is not too sticky. The best tape to use is paper tape. It is good because the lash tape will come off gently as you peel it off the lashes. Make sure you are holding the lashes as you pull the tape off because you don't want to pull off your client's lashes that you just did. Neon Color Lashes, Velour Lash Adhesive, Incredible Retention Primer, Super Bonder, and Promade Fans are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   8 Things You Didn't Know About Colored Lash Extensions   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.    ADVANTAGES OF USING HIGH-QUALITY UNDER-EYE PATCHES FOR EYELASH EXTENSIONS It adheres firmly to the client's skin and does not slip or move during application. It has a similar form to the under-eye area and a good hold on the bottom lashes. It allows every lash artist to quickly grasp the inner and outer corners of the bottom lashes. The under-eye patches should be light in color to see the lashes. Great patches work as a blank canvas for the lash artist to create a map. Lash mapping is an excellent technique for staying on track and achieving the desired look or style. Gel under eye patches and breathable tape are used in this set. To shop, please click here.     HOW TO APPLY UNDER-EYE PATCHES FOR EYELASH EXTENSIONS? Use lash foam shampoo that has a gentle cleansing formula that removes eye makeup and impurities from lashes to clean and dry your client's eye area, especially if the client has oily skin since the lashes will not adhere properly. Remove the lash patches from the plastic gently. Make sure that when you apply it to the top of the lower lashes, there is no contact with your client's eye or in the waterline. When the lash extension application process is finished, gently remove the patches from the outside corner area. Hydro-Gel Under Eye Patches and Breathable Tape are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   REMEMBER: When applying lash patches, take your time. Keep an eye on your isolation tweezers. In most cases, their tips should not contact the eye pad. Check the eye pads. It's always better to detect 2 or 3 lower lashes sticking out or even glued together early than to find 20 lower lashes already firmly glued to the upper ones. Hydro-Gel Under Eye Patches and Sensitive Nexcare Skin Tape are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here. HOW TO TAPE BOTTOM LASHES? I love using lash tape because it works well to secure short and fine bottom lashes that point upwards. It also helps press down puffy under eyes or high cheekbones. Cut about 1.5 inches. Start with the outer corners and place the lash tape along the line while avoiding the waterline. You'll do the same on the inner corners to form an "X." Once your client's eyes are closed, make sure to check that all the lashes are secured and that the tape isn't riding up to the waterline. If it is, adjust it gently. TIP: You can use a sensitive tape that's flexible to wrap comfortably around the under eyes. It should have the perfect amount of stickiness while being gentle enough to be pain-free while removing.   Lash taping technique for working with bottom layer. Gel Under Eye Patches, Eyelash Extension Ballet Slippers Tape, Lashes, Color Lashes, Ultra Crystal Clear Bond, Straight Isolation Tweezer and L Shape Tweezer used in this set. Eyelash extension tape is excellent for multi-purpose use during the lash extension procedure. You can use it under the eye instead of gel patches and on the top of the eyelid to lift the lid and natural lashes. There are three considerations to consider while deciding which tape to use: Client sensitivity (any allergies to latex, gel?) Skin Type (oily skin, dry skin, any medical conditions affecting the skin?) Eye shape (what kinds of eyes does the client have? almond-shaped or oval-shaped?)   How to prevent red eyes from lash extensions? Preventing red eyes after a lash appointment starts with proper taping techniques. Use paper tape and place it as close to the lash line as possible without touching the wet line. This keeps the lower lashes securely in place while protecting the delicate skin from adhesive fumes. Be gentle when applying and removing the tape to avoid irritation. Always double-check that the tape is smooth and not pulling on the skin or lashes. Following these steps helps create a comfortable experience for your client and prevents redness or irritation after the session.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.     CONCLUSION Every lash artist's best friend is lash extension tape, which can be used to fix bottom lashes and calm twitching clients' eyes. Choose a Drying Time That Matches Your Speed 1-2 seconds: For advanced lash techs who work fast. Great for volume sets. 2-3 seconds: Ideal for intermediate artists—flexible, beginner-friendly. 4-5 seconds: Best for new artists. Allows more time for precise placement. Pro tip: Fast glue = fast hands. If you're still perfecting isolation, go slower. Good lash glue should hold for 4–6 weeks. Retention depends on: Glue quality Humidity in your workspace Application technique Always read reviews and test on yourself or a model before regular use. Cashmere Noir Collection Lashes, Velour Lash Adhesive, Incredible Retention Primer, Super Bonder, Straight Isolation Tweezer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Struggling with lash retention? Click here for a comprehensive course with guaranteed results!   3. Sensitive Clients? Use Low-Fume, Hypoallergenic Glue Some clients react to fumes or ingredients. Low-fume adhesives: Gentler for sensitive eyes. Latex-free & formaldehyde-free: Essential for allergy-prone clients. Always check the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) before using a new product. Organized Pro-made Fans, Optite Low Humidity Adhesive, Hydro-Gel Under Eye Patches, Lash Tape, Silicone Eyelash Holder Pad, L Shape Tweezer and Large Tip Boot Lash Tweezer are used in this set. In dry or humid climates, use adjustable glue that adapts to conditions. Use a hygrometer to monitor your lash room’s environment. Lash Adhesive Vault with Hygrometer is used here. To shop, please click here.   Want to learn how humidity affects your eyelash extension glue—and how to fix it? Click HERE to read our expert guide.   5. Pick Quality Over Hype Not all expensive adhesives are better—but cheap glue can cost you clients. ✔️ Medical-grade glues with 95%+ cyanoacrylate purity are ideal. 🧪 Ask for the COA (Certificate of Analysis) from your supplier. 📣 Trusted brands are transparent. If they hide ingredients, walk away. Chocolate Charm Bond and Heart Glue Ring are used here. To shop, please click here.   6. Common Glue Myths—Debunked Formaldehyde? Not in the final product—only used in manufacturing. Glue rings? Safe. Made of PBT plastic, which doesn’t react with glue. Cancer risks? Exposure is extremely low. No proven link in lash use. Hydroquinone? Used in tiny amounts (0.1–0.3%) to stabilize glue—not harmful.   7. How to Store Lash Adhesive (Properly) Even top glue won’t perform if poorly stored. Follow these golden rules: Keep in a cool, dry place—never near sunlight or heat. Store between 15–25°C (59–77°F). Use airtight containers or silica packs to control moisture. Shake well for 30 seconds before use. Wipe nozzle after every use with lint-free paper. Replace every 4–6 weeks once opened—even if unused. Ultra Crystal Bond is used here. To shop, please click here.   To learn more about how eyelash extension glue works, how to store it, and how to match it to your room, check out our FULL GUIDE.   8. Want Better Retention? Nail the Application Clean lashes with lash shampoo to remove oil/debris. Use a primer to neutralize lash pH for stronger bonding. Apply just enough glue—too little = poor bond, too much = clumps. Make sure clients' eyes are fully closed to avoid fume irritation. Cure glue naturally—no misting unless glue is compatible. Lashes, Straight Isolation Tweezer, Optite Low Humidity Adhesive and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   9. Ingredients to Look For (and Avoid) Good signs: ✔️ Ethyl-2-Cyanoacrylate (main bonding ingredient) ✔️ Minimal additives ✔️ Transparent safety documentation   Avoid: ❌ Excessive fillers ❌ Industrial-grade formulas ❌ Products with unclear ingredient lists   10. Quick Checklist Before You Buy ✅ Medical-grade? ✅ SDS + COA available? ✅ Suits your skill level + humidity? ✅ Reviewed by other lash artists? ✅ Matches client needs (sensitive or not)? ✅ Reasonable shelf life + dry time? If yes, you're good to go!   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   Final Thoughts: Science-Backed, Client-Approved As a lash artist, you’re not just applying lashes—you’re working with chemistry. Choosing the right adhesive and using it correctly ensures: Safer applications Longer retention Happier, loyal clients Always educate yourself, don’t fall for hype, and keep your glue fresh and clean.     Bonus Tip: What About Super Bonders? Super bonders can speed up curing and reduce fumes, but they’re not a fix for poor technique. Use them after application for better resistance to oils and humidity. Scented Super Bonder is used here. To shop, please click here.   Conclusion Choosing lash glue isn’t just about brand or price—it’s about compatibility, science, and safety. By understanding your glue, your environment, and your clients, you’ll elevate your lash game with every set.     These tips are just a glimpse of so many things that you need to learn on how to improve your client's retention.  I have compiled all the helpful tips in our LASH RETENTION ONLINE COURSE.   THIS ISN'T ABOUT SALES TALK. Premade Fans Vs Promade Fans

by Michelle Rebay on Jun 14 2021
What are premade lash fans? What are promade fans? Are both the same? What makes them different? Are premade fans bad? Is there a significant difference between creating your fans and buying them already made? As a lash artist, one of the most common questions I encounter is about the difference between premades and promades volume lash fans. It's an understandable query considering the swirl of misinformation and misconceptions that often surround these two terms in the industry. However, the truth is quite simple: premades and promades are THE SAME in today's lash industry. In this blog, let me answer all your questions and discuss all the information you need to know about these lash fans. Pro-made Fans, Straight Isolation Tweezer, Precision Volume 90 Degree Tweezer, and Gel Under Eye Patches are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   New to lash photo editing? We've got you covered with our Free Lash Editing Tutorial. Click here to learn more!   THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS: HAND OR MACHINE? Firstly, whether they come on strips or loose, premades and promades are manufactured in EXACTLY THE SAME WAY! Promade Fans, Lash Wisps, Velour Lash Adhesive, Incredible Retention Primer and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   There have been misconceptions surrounding the manufacturing process of premade fans and promade fans. Some mistakenly believe that premade fans are entirely machine-made, while promade fans are handmade. However, this is not the case. Both types of fans are made by hand, using tools and meticulous techniques. The only machine involved in the process is an oven, which is used for curling the lashes. While there may be differences in packaging and presentation, it is important to note that premade fans and promade fans are manufactured using identical techniques. Both types of fans are created by lash professionals or manufacturers who handcraft the fans using specialized tools. The objective is to achieve a fanned-out appearance with precise separation and uniformity. If you purchase from a lash brand and find that their premade or promade fans have pinch slim bases, that's an indication of the latest generation of manufacturing techniques.  For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   THE CREATION PROCESS: STRIPS OR LOOSE? Whether you're purchasing premade fans or promade fans, both types initially begin on a strip. This strip serves as the foundation for creating beautiful, voluminous lash fans. It provides a convenient base for lash artists during the manufacturing and application process. Promade Fans, Neon Color Lashes, Ultra Crystal Clear Bond, Incredible Retention Primer and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   When deciding between premade and promade fans, it's crucial to consider your personal preference and the specific needs of your clients. Premade fans on strips offer convenience during application, allowing you to pick up and apply multiple fans simultaneously. Promade fans, on the other hand, provide flexibility and customization, as you can select the exact number of fans for achieving the desired volume (more options). The claim that one type is handmade while the other is machine-made is simply not accurate. The reality is that both premades and promades volume fans are identical in the way they are created.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   HERE'S A VISUAL SHEET Before applying the fan to each lash, you must carefully determine the extension diameter, length, and weight.   To balance the weight of the extensions on the natural lash while maintaining the entire, complete set look, you'll need perfect control over your fans. Handmade volume fans are the most effective way to personalize each set for your clients, even if it isn't the easiest suitable option. Promade lashes can save you time and energy, allowing you to focus on booking more clients and growing your business. Keep in mind that they may be more costly than making your own. Take the time to develop your craft, whatever path you pick. It doesn't matter which approach you use if you don't have strong technique and adhesive control. Premade lash fans, on the other hand, have few customization options. Ranging from 2D-10D in C and D curl exclusively. They cannot adapt to varying lash textures, lengths, or strengths. Furthermore, unlike when constructing their own, the artist has no control over the lash base of the fan.  After the volume fan is dipped in adhesive a second time (the weight will be increasing), with premade fans, the "wrap" of the glue and the bases of each extension around the natural lash are more complicated   PRO TIP: If you want to improve lash retention, it is advisable to apply the made fans from the bottom or from the side of the client's natural lash. It has been proven the most effective in client retention. Pro-made Loose Single Lashes, Bio Gel Eye Patches, Velour Lash Adhesive, Incredible Retention Primer, Dolphin-Shaped Curved Tweezer, L Shape Tweezer and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   PROMADE LASH FANS: ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW Promade Fans are made by hand. They can either be created by a lash artist before the client's appointment or stored to use during the lash appointment. The alternative is buying pro-made fans already made. Similarly, in size, pro-made fans purchased in bulk are made by lash artists in bulk. Organized Pro-made Fans, Optite Low Humidity Adhesive, Super Bonder and Lash Wisps are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Pro-made fans can also be made during the lash appointment and applied to the client's lashes. It is a great way to practice as well, but it doesn't allow to save much time since the process of making lash fans is time-consuming. Handmade fans are creative by pulling a few extensions from the strip, fanning them according to the lash artist's liking, dipping them in glue, and placing them on the client's natural lash, resulting in a solid connection.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF PROMADE FANS? Advantages of using promade volume lash fans: If you prepare your lash fans ahead of time, you can save time during your appointment. A high client turnover rate means more bookings each day. The lash wrapping technique can still be used because of the sharp pointy bases, allowing for excellent lash retention. Clients love fast service. They value their time and greatly appreciate quicker service if the quality is not compromised. There's no need for lash volume training. Compared to the classic set, the volume set provides a higher gross profit. Organized Pro-made Wispy Lashes, Noir Fiber Tip Collection Precision Curved Tweezer, Magnetic Lash Tile, Bio Gel Eye Patches, Velour Lash Adhesive, Incredible Retention Primer, and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Disadvantages of using promade volume lash fans: A tray of pro-made fans is more expensive than a tray of volume lashes. It is due to the work and labor to develop the product. Since the lash fans come loose in a package, there is some time required to place them on a sticky pad to make usage as comfortable as possible for the artist. Shop now for Promade Fans>>   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   DIFFERENT TYPES OF PROMADE LASH FANS The main goal of promade lashes is to make it easier for beginners and experienced lash artists to create beautiful lashes that are easy to apply and can also be customized to match client's needs and wants. They provide new lash artists with quick assistance and act as a bridge as the artists develop their lash techniques. Neon Color Lashes, Velour Lash Adhesive, Incredible Retention Primer, Super Bonder, Promade Fans, Eyelash Extension Ballet Slippers Tape and Hydro-Gel Under Eye Patches are used in this set. To shop, please click here.     ARE YOU A NEW LASH ARTIST? Maybe you struggled to find the right kind of lashes for your clients. In this day and age, there are a lot of options out there. Here are a variety of best promade lash fans to choose from: PRO-MADE FANS SINGLE LENGTH To arrange the loose fans: Use a silicone pad (put them one by one). Take one fan at a time, coat it with adhesive, and place it on your client's natural lashes. For best retention, put it at the bottom or side of the natural lash.     PRO-MADE FANS MIX LENGTH  The least expensive way to practice various lengths is using mixed loose fans!   PRO-MADE ORGANIZED FANS Organized pro-made volume fans are a new product in the market that will cut the time you spend making fans in half.   PRO-MADE FANS XL BOXES Since they are handmade by lash artists, just like the loose promade fans, and are also perfectly arranged, just like the premade fans on a strip, they are the ideal blend of premade and pro-mades.    For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   HOW DO YOU STORE YOUR PROMADE FANS? The best way to store your fans is to use an empty container. When they're dry, you just place them in there. If you're making multiple lash fans, make sure that you label them according to their curl, diameter, or length. In placing them, don't worry. It's not going to hurt your fans if they overlap because you just pick it up, and they're ready for you to use. Pro-made Loose Single Lashes, Bio Gel Eye Patches, Velour Lash Adhesive, Incredible Retention Primer, Nude 90 Degree Isolation Lash Extension Tweezer, and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   REMEMBER: If you put too much glue, the base of the lash fan will be too thick and can be too heavy for the client's natural lash. Try to remember that you will need to dip the fan again into the adhesive when applying the extension to the client's natural lashes. Whenever you make them, don't use a lot of glue at all. It would help if you used only enough adhesive to hold the fan together.   PRO TIP: Another way to store your fans is by using double-sided tape. Place the double-sided tape on the lash tray (either do it in a row style or a bit smaller across). Grab the one you made and place it inside. When you put on the tape, it's not hard to take them off, and it doesn't ruin the lash fans. Ideally, you should remove the pro-made fans from the sticky tape the same way you would with Premade fans. Remove them by the base of the fan, upwards towards yourself. Pomade Loose Fans Mix Length and Silicone Eyelash Holder Pad are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   The added benefit of storing promade fans is that you will not waste your precious lash supplies. Many lash artists throw out the fans they made while practicing. A much better way to save money is to keep them, store them, and use them on a client. As a beginner in fan making, your initial lash fans won't necessarily be acceptable, but they will be good to use on clients after a bit of practice. Therefore there's no reason to throw them out.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   BEST VOLUME LASH FANS: HOW TO CHOOSE? As a lash artist, you need to know the different types of volume fans to achieve the desired look for your clients. Organized Pro-made Fans, Optite Low Humidity Adhesive, Hydro-Gel Under Eye Patches, Eyelash Extension Ballet Slippers Tape, and Silicone Eyelash Holder Pad are used in this set. Because volume lashes have 2 to 10 lashes per fan, you should use lashes much smaller in diameter. Gel Under Eye Patches, Eyelash Extension Ballet Slippers Tape, Pro-made Fans and Ultra Crystal Bond are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   ARE SHORT STEM OR LONG STEM LASHES BETTER? SHORT STEM fans are to create a natural and light look.Lash artists commonly use LONG STEM fans to create a dense and dramatic effect.     For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   UNDERSTANDING PREMADE LASH FANS It is either heat-bonded or glued at the base with a bit of lash adhesive. Like individual lash extensions, the finished result is packaged in a tray and attached to an adhesive strip. It's important to note that the only machine involved in the entire manufacturing process is an oven, which is specifically used for curling the lashes.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF PREMADE FANS?  Advantages of using premade volume lash fans: Premade lash fans help you save time when applying your lashes. A high client turnover rate means more bookings each day. Most premade fans are lined up on a sticky strip, making it easy to grab them and apply them to the client's natural lashes. Clients love fast service; they value their time and greatly appreciate quicker service if the quality is not compromised. There's no need for lash volume training. Compared to the classic set, the volume set provides a higher gross profit.   Disadvantages of using premade volume lash fans: The base is bulkier and not as sharp based (for some brands) Can cause lash retention issues Less adjustable than a handmade lash fan. The style is not as customizable for each client. A tray of premade fans is more expensive than a tray of promade (made by the lash artist) lash fans. A proper lash work chair can provide the required comfort for the client and lash artist.  Curved Lash Bed Mattress Topper, and Velour Luxury Lash Bed Cover are used here. We've got you covered with our Free Lash Editing Tutorial. Click here to learn more!   Today we're going to look at the different types of eyelash chairs and lash stools you can use while doing eyelash extensions. Let's jump right in!   HOW DO YOU CHOOSE THE BEST LASH CHAIR FOR LASH ARTISTS? The best lash chair for lash artists is the one that will allow them to have a comfortable and ergonomic position while still being able to perform well. Lash Bed Mattress Topper, Lash Pillow, Lash Bed Blanket, and Stretchable Lash Bed Cover are used here. To shop, please click here. If you are a lash artist, you might already know how important it is to choose the right chair for your lash business. But what does it mean to be "the right chair"? Here are some things to consider when choosing the best lash chair for your needs:   COLOR AND DESIGN Whether you believe it or not, the way you decorate your eyelash studio has a significant impact on how your clients judge the quality of your lash service. One of the first things they'll notice is the type of seats you choose. These eyelash chairs should be an excellent match for the studio's overall design style. Don't pick colors or styles that clash with the rest of the room's decor. The most frequent tones that readily incorporate the variety of lash chairs into the area of an eyelash studio are white, black, and neutral colors.   EASY HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT There should be a height adjustment option. During the eyelash extensions process, you may easily alter the chair height to meet a range of design preferences.Meanwhile, the best stool chairs for lash artists should have solid rolling caster wheels that allow for 360-degree swiveling and freedom of movement on the floor. Any eyelash technician should have no difficulty shifting and adjusting their height in serving their clients.   WARRANTY OF THE LASH CHAIR Always check the warranty with the suppliers, regardless of what you buy. The lash chair or lash stool isn't much different. It would help if you made sure that the chairs and stools you buy come with a warranty from the supplier and that the warranty is clear about how long it will last.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   TOP 8 BEST-SELLING LASH CHAIRS AND LASH STOOLS FOR LASH ARTISTS Lash chairs are super important for lash artists; they're the number one tool in your salon. That's why I've put together this list of the 8 best-selling chairs for lash artists!   1. KKTONER PU LEATHER ROUND ROLLING STOOL WITH BACKREST HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE SWIVEL Advantages: Adjustable Height: Allows for optimal positioning relative to clients of different heights, reducing strain on the lash artist’s back and neck. Swivel Function: Enhances mobility and ease of access around the client, enabling the artist to work from various angles without repositioning the stool. Backrest: Provides lower back support, which is crucial during long lash application sessions to prevent back pain. PU Leather Material: Easy to clean and disinfect between clients, maintaining hygiene standards essential in a lash studio. Rolling Casters: Offer smooth movement across the floor, allowing the artist to reach for tools and products without having to stand up. Compact Design: Saves space in the studio, which is beneficial for smaller work areas. Sturdy Base: Ensures stability while working, preventing wobbling or tipping that can occur with less durable chairs.   Disadvantages: Limited Backrest Adjustability: The backrest might not be adjustable, which could lead to discomfort if it doesn't fit the artist’s back perfectly. No Armrests: Lack of armrests can lead to arm fatigue, as there's no place to rest the arms during breaks in a session. Cushion Density: If the cushion is too soft, it might not provide enough support for an entire day's work; too firm, and it could be uncomfortable. Wheel Locks Missing: Without lockable casters, the stool may slide unintentionally, which can be disruptive during precise lash applications. Aesthetic Limitations: The professional appearance might not match the décor or branding of all lash studios. Weight Capacity: There may be a weight limit, which could exclude some users or affect long-term durability. Noise Potential: Wheels and swivel mechanisms can sometimes create noise, which may disrupt the relaxing atmosphere of a lash session.   2. KKTONER ROUND ROLLING STOOL PU LEATHER HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE SWIVEL Advantages: Height Adjustable: Allows customization to the artist's height, promoting better posture and reducing fatigue. Swivel Capability: Facilitates easy movement around the client, providing access to all angles without repositioning the chair. Easy to Clean: The PU leather surface can be wiped down quickly between clients to maintain cleanliness. Mobility: Equipped with rolling wheels for easy movement across the studio floor. Space Saver: Its compact design does not take up much space, ideal for smaller studios. Simple Aesthetic: Sleek, professional look that can fit into various decors. Sturdy Construction: Offers good support and stability during lash application sessions.   Disadvantages: No Backrest: Lack of back support could lead to discomfort during long sessions. No Armrests: Could cause arm fatigue, as there’s no support for resting the arms. Cushion Comfort: A flat cushion may not provide enough comfort for prolonged periods. Risk of Rolling Away: Without wheel locks, the stool might move unexpectedly, which can be inconvenient. Durability of Cushion: Over time, the cushioning might flatten, reducing comfort. Weight Limit: May not be suitable for all body types if it has a low weight capacity. Assembly Required: Might need to be assembled, which can be a hassle for some.   3. EASY LIFE SADDLE STOOL ROLLING CHAIR HYDRAULIC ADJUSTABLE WITH WHEELS Advantages: Ergonomic Saddle Design: Promotes a healthier sitting posture, reducing the risk of back pain. Hydraulic Adjustment: Offers smooth height adjustment to accommodate different client heights and artist preferences. Mobility with Wheels: Makes it easy to glide around the workspace without standing, which can speed up the lash application process. Compact and Space-Efficient: Its design is suitable for small spaces and can easily be tucked away. Easy to Clean: The PU leather material is simple to wipe down, keeping the work area sanitary. Sturdy Base: Provides stability and support, which is essential during delicate lash applications. Modern Look: Has a contemporary design that can complement the aesthetic of a modern lash studio.   Disadvantages: Lack of Backrest: No support for the back can lead to fatigue during longer sessions. No Armrests: Might cause discomfort for the arms over extended periods. Learning Curve: The saddle seat may take some getting used to, especially if switching from a traditional chair. Potential for Imbalance: If not used to the saddle design, there's a chance of feeling unsteady until accustomed to it. Weight Distribution: The unique shape may not evenly distribute weight, which could be uncomfortable for some users. Durability of the Hydraulic System: Over time, the hydraulic mechanism may wear out and require maintenance or replacement. No Wheel Locks: The chair could move when pressure is applied in a certain direction, which may require readjustment during lash applications.   4. SADDLE STOOL ROLLING CHAIR ADJUSTABLE HYDRAULIC STOOL WITH WHEELS   Advantages: Ergonomic Design: The saddle shape supports a natural sitting position, which can help reduce lower back strain. Height Adjustability: The hydraulic feature allows for easy height changes, accommodating different workstations and client sizes. Easy Movement: Wheels provide the ability to move around the client smoothly without needing to stand up, which is great for efficiency. Sturdy Base: The chair's construction is designed to offer stability, which is essential when performing precise lash applications. Space Saving: Its design is not bulky, making it ideal for smaller studios or spaces. Durability: Typically, these chairs are built to last and can withstand frequent use. Cleaning Convenience: The material allows for quick and easy cleaning between clients.   Disadvantages: Lack of Back Support: With no backrest, long sessions could become uncomfortable. No Armrests: This could be a drawback for artists who prefer to have a place to rest their arms. Balance Adjustment: It may take some time to get used to the balance on a saddle chair, especially if transitioning from a traditional seat. Cushion Comfort: Depending on the padding, it might not be comfortable for all-day use. Wheel Locks Absent: If the chair does not have lockable wheels, it may slide unintentionally during delicate work. Saddle Seat Fit: Not everyone finds the saddle seat comfortable; it can be a very individual preference. Weight Distribution: Some may find that the saddle seat does not distribute their weight evenly, leading to discomfort.   5. SADDLE STOOL CHAIR WITH BACK SUPPORT, HEAVY DUTY Advantages: Back Support: The included backrest offers support during long sessions, which can help prevent back pain. Ergonomic Saddle Design: Encourages a better posture, potentially reducing the risk of musculoskeletal issues. Height Adjustment: The hydraulic mechanism allows for easy changes in height, accommodating artists of different statures and client seating positions. Sturdy Construction: Described as heavy-duty, it suggests the chair can withstand significant use and possibly has a higher weight capacity. Mobility: Equipped with wheels, it provides convenient movement around the client without needing to stand. Easy Maintenance: The material is likely easy to clean, which is important for maintaining hygiene in a lash studio. Professional Appearance: Sleek design that could fit well into a professional beauty salon environment.   Disadvantages: Weight and Size: Being heavy-duty might mean it's heavier and bulkier, potentially making it less suitable for smaller spaces. Complexity in Assembly: May be more complex to assemble due to the added back support and heavy-duty construction. Limited Recline: If the back support doesn't recline, it might not provide comfort for all body types. Potential for Overreliance on Backrest: Lash artists might slouch or over-rely on the backrest, which could lead to poor posture over time. Cost: Heavy-duty chairs are often more expensive, which might be a consideration for budget-conscious artists. Cushion Comfort: Depending on the firmness of the saddle, it might not be comfortable for everyone, especially for long durations. Stability vs. Mobility: If the chair is too heavy, it could be less mobile, making it harder to move around quickly when needed.   6. KALEURRIER ADJUSTABLE STOOL Advantages: Back Support: The chair comes with a backrest, which provides support during lengthy lash sessions. Adjustable Height: A hydraulic system allows for easy adjustment to accommodate different client heights and artist preferences. Footrest Ring: Offers a place for the lash artist to rest their feet, which can help with posture and comfort during sessions. Mobility: Equipped with caster wheels for easy movement around the workspace. Sturdy Construction: Appears to have a heavy-duty base, which suggests stability and durability. Professional Look: Sleek design that could enhance the professional appearance of a lash studio. Easy to Clean: The material likely allows for quick cleaning and maintenance.   Disadvantages: Limited Recline: The backrest does not appear to recline, which could limit comfort options for the artist. Complex Assembly: May require assembly, which can be time-consuming or require additional tools. Weight: The heavy-duty construction might make the stool heavier and less portable. Bulky Design: The combination of backrest and footrest could take up more space, making it less suitable for smaller studios. Cushion Comfort: The comfort level of the seat cushion will be essential for long hours; if it's too firm or soft, it could be uncomfortable. Potential Noise: Sometimes, stools with metal parts like footrest rings can produce noise when moved, which could disturb the tranquility of a lash studio. Footrest Usability: Depending on the height of the artist, the fixed footrest ring may not be at an ergonomic position for everyone.   7. BOSS OFFICE STOOL Advantages: Back Support: The inclusion of a backrest provides essential support during lengthy lash sessions. Adjustable Height: The chair's height can be adjusted to suit the lash artist’s comfort and the client’s positioning. Foot Ring: A built-in foot ring offers additional comfort by allowing a place for the artist to rest their feet. Easy Mobility: Casters on the bottom make it easy to move around the workspace without getting up. Compact Design: The chair does not seem to take up too much space, making it suitable for smaller work areas. Sturdy Base: Chrome base suggests good stability and durability for regular use. Simple Cleaning: The material looks like it can be easily wiped down between clients to maintain hygiene.   Disadvantages: Lumbar Support: The backrest may not provide adequate lumbar support, which is crucial for preventing back pain. Cushioning: Depending on the quality of the cushion, it might not be comfortable for all-day use. No Armrests: The absence of armrests could lead to shoulder and arm fatigue during extensive lash applications. Durability of Wheels: Frequent movement can lead to wear and tear on the casters, which may require replacement. Foot Ring Position: If the foot ring is not adjustable, it may not be comfortable for artists of all heights. Weight Capacity: Depending on its construction, the stool may have a limit to the weight it can support. Stability: While the base is sturdy, without locking wheels, the chair could slide when pressure is applied, which might be disruptive during precise lash applications.   8. MASTER MASSAGE BERKELEY ERGONOMIC SPLIT STYLE Advantages: Ergonomic Split Design: This unique design can reduce pressure on the spine and improve leg circulation, which is beneficial during long sessions. Adjustable Features: Height and backrest adjustability allow for a customized fit for comfort and posture. Mobility: The chair has wheels, making it easy to move around the workspace. Sturdy Construction: It appears to have a solid base, which is essential for stability during lash applications. Back Support: The presence of a backrest provides support, which may help reduce fatigue from sitting for extended periods. Space-Efficient: The design is compact, potentially saving space in the studio. Easy to Clean: The materials used seem to be simple to maintain and hygienic.   Disadvantages: Learning Curve: The split seat may take some getting used to and may not be comfortable for everyone. Stability: The unique design might affect the stability for those not accustomed to it. No Armrests: Lacking armrests could lead to arm fatigue over long periods. Cushion Comfort: Depending on personal preference, the split cushion may not provide the same comfort level as a traditional seat. Weight Distribution: The split style might not suit all body types and could impact how weight is distributed. Durability of Seat Adjustment Mechanism: With more complex mechanisms, there's a potential for more frequent maintenance or repair needs. Aesthetic Appeal: The unique look of the chair may not align with the aesthetic of every lash studio.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   HOW SHOULD YOU SIT WHEN DOING EYELASH EXTENSIONS? The ideal posture for eyelash extension application: The adjustable stool and lashing bed need the height that permits you to sit straight up with both feet on the floor. Place your feet on either side of the lash bed, straddling the bed while performing the lash service. L Curl Lashes, Ultra Crystal Bond, Marlowe Tweezer and Malachi Tweezer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   TIP #1 Get as near to your lash bed as possible. Place your back on the stool's backrest and turn on the lights.Sit as near to the head of the bed and the head of the client as possible.   TIP #2 It would help if you had a stool and massage bed that adjusts the height.Your breast level is the high level you want to be in the stool (tweezers and client lashes). Check to see if your shoulders are relaxed and not tense. Some beginners hunch because they want to see the fine lashes. So, to maintain good posture, I recommend that you use magnifying glasses. Hunching is the first reason you get tired and burnt out quickly and can cause muscle tension.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   WHAT ARE THE BAD EFFECTS OF SLOUCHING? Proper posture for lash extensions is essential when we are performing our job. Slouching can cause lasting pain and injuries that hinder you from doing what you love. We don't want to pay so much money for a chiropractor or orthopedic surgeon due to chronic pain. Poor posture can also contribute to the following: Poor Circulation Negative Mood Increased Stress Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Less Motivation Poor Digestion Fatigue   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   THE BOTTOM LINE All-day, lash artists and lash technicians are in the business of looking after others. However, because of poor ergonomics and long hours, lashing may cause irreversible damage to their bodies. Sit with a comfortable chair stool as a lash technician to avoid back and shoulder strain and carpal tunnel syndrome. The best eyelash chair ensures that lash artists maintain proper posture and that the client's head is at chest level. Second, the best chair for eyelash technicians allows them to keep their feet flat on the floor by allowing them to modify the height of the chair. All the lash chairs and lash stools mentioned above are worth purchasing to minimize back discomfort, improve posture, and strengthen your core.   Leave a comment and let me know if what type of lash chair you will be using for eyelash extensions. Do you find this blog helpful? Eyelash Extension Techniques For Lash Artists

by Michelle Rebay on May 21 2021
Eyelash extension application techniques? Lash extension tips for beginners? How do I get better at eyelash extensions? Lash artists need a variety of awesome application techniques to do what they do best. If you are a professional, you know your techniques' importance. I've recently had more people come to me desperate for help with their eyelash extension set. It is why going to a qualified lash artist is essential. Here are the common lash problems I've seen and some eyelash extension techniques that will help you fix them. Volume Lashes mix curls D, CC, and C, Velour Lash Adhesive are used in this set. We've got you covered with our Free Lash Editing Tutorial. Click here to learn more!   The goal here is to ensure your clients are taken care of and can return for future services knowing that you have their best interest in mind. So remember, communication is vital; never be afraid to ask your clients questions to make them feel more comfortable and confident during the service. That way, your experience as a lash artist will become more rewarding, while your client's personal experience will be positively impacted.   1. HOW DO YOU KEEP YOUR BOTTOM LASHES DOWN? THE PROBLEM: Anchoring bottom lashes, whether with lash tape, gel patches, or another way, is one of the most crucial aspects of lash service safety. THE SOLUTION: If the lashes become unanchored, it's essential to stop your process to anchor them back down. Turn on a fan to ensure that your client's eyelashes are completely dry, as you may need them to open their eyes. Don't try to reuse what's not working. Please proceed with your lash service after replacing it with a new secure attachment. Hydro-gel Under Eye Patches and Lash Tape are used in this set. THE PROBLEM: You may see a lash sticking to the bottom of the lashes at the end of a lash session. It can happen even if you were very careful during setup. One of the main reasons is the extension isn't being placed right. THE SOLUTION: Make sure the root of the extensions is placed right on the top of the root of the natural eyelash, and make sure it's glued right. It can also happen if the extension has grown out. To unstick, gently pull eyelashes apart. They should separate most of the time. If not, gently separate the lashes with the client's eyes closed. Take a deep breath and move slowly. There is no need to rush. Your positive energy will also help the client relax.   Volume Lashes mix curls D, CC, and C, Velour Lash Adhesive, Disposable Eyelash Brush, Hydrogel Under Eye Patches and Lash Tape are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   3. HOW TO FIX TWISTED EYELASH EXTENSIONS? THE PROBLEM: It's most likely due to a lack of isolation. Isolation is one of the most challenging skills to learn when you first start, so it's no surprise that this is a typical issue. Before moving on to advanced techniques, inexperienced lash techs should understand essential isolation. THE SOLUTION: It is a prior lash artist's error, not the client's. If the eyelash extensions are becoming tangled, you'll probably want to scale back their length. It's always better to start over! You'll probably want to start over after removing all of the knotted and twisted lashes.Remember to isolate properly, so multiple lashes don't become adhered. Use the 90-degree angle rule when it's time to restyle the lashes—placed at a 90-degree angle. Focus on securing the eyelash extension to the lash's base. Remember, you don't always have to follow the growth pattern of the natural lash. Sometimes natural lashes can grow in different directions. Working back and forth between the eyes will allow the lash adhesive to set. It will prevent eyelashes from sticking together as you sift through, looking for natural lashes around the area you just lashed. Volume Lashes mix curls D, CC, and C, Velour Lash Adhesive and Silicon Brush are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   4. EYELASH EXTENSION ALLERGIC REACTION REMEDIES THE PROBLEM: Irritation or allergies! It's critical to pinpoint the source of the problem. Once the allergen is removed, the redness and swelling caused by the allergy will disappear. A variety of factors can cause a client to develop an allergy. If an allergy develops within the first 24-48 hours, it's usually due to an allergic reaction to the adhesive. THE SOLUTION: Although a lash artist is not a doctor, you could advise the client to take Benadryl or apply a warm compress to reduce swelling. If you attempt to remove the lashes while the client is experiencing redness and swelling, the chemical removal solution may irritate the client further, causing further harm. L Curl Lashes, Ultra Crystal Bond, Super Bonder and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   5. HOW TO FIX BAD EYELASH EXTENSIONS? THE PROBLEM: A client's natural lashes may be damaged for a variety of causes. If they've previously had lash extensions, it's possible that the lash artist overstressed the lash line by utilizing the wrong size or thickness of extension. THE SOLUTION: The key to having beautiful lash extensions has a solid base. If your client's natural lashes aren't healthy, eyelash extensions are unlikely to work. You can use lash growth serum for your clients and retail it to your clients. It's a win-win situation for everyone. You'll be able to sell things to your clients, and they will have beautiful, healthy lashes after. L Curl Lashes, Ultra Crystal Bond, Super Bonder and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   6. WHY ARE MY CLIENT'S LASHES NOT LASTING? THE PROBLEM: When it comes to an understanding ourselves and our behaviors clearly, it frequently takes someone watching us go through our routines to pinpoint the root of the problem. Nothing beats investing in quality education and a mentor to resolve this problem. One of the main reasons for this is you are using the incorrect adhesive for your speed and environment. THE SOLUTION: If the adhesive dries too quickly, it will set before a proper bond can form with the client's natural lash, which means poor retention. When the lash is off balance or not attached solidly at the bottom, I recommend peeling it off the natural hair and trying again. Do not try to add adhesive or another lash to make it better because this is unsafe. Gel remover should only be the last option to avoid getting remover all over your lashes. L Curl Lashes, Ultra Crystal Bond, Super Bonder and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   CONCLUSION  The best way to get better at eyelash extensions is to practice. Like anything else, you need to do the work, whether reading many books, watching online tutorials, or taking some courses. Get as much hands-on experience as you canI believe every lash artist should just practice, practice, practice. This will give you the best chance at perfection and not ripping the client's eyelashes. If you find yourself particularly struggling one month, distance yourself from the business for a week or two and dive into your research.     Have you tried these quick eyelash extension techniques? Curved Lash Bed Mattress Topper, Velour Luxury Lash Bed Cover, Portable Handheld Cooling Fan, Lash Tweezer, Lashes and Magnetic Lash Tile are used here. Each type has its benefits and drawbacks, so it's important to know what you're buying before you make a purchase. Curved Lash Bed Mattress Topper, Velour Luxury Lash Bed Cover are used here. To shop, please click here.    Choosing a lash bed can be a daunting task. There are many styles available. This blog will learn what you should look for in a lash bed, the best place to buy from, and descriptions of each lash bed and lash recliner.Since all of the details about lash beds are in one place, I always chose Amazon as the final shopping destination. They also have a lot of feedback and questions about the beds, which I might sort through to help me decide which ones are the best. The exciting reality is that more salon and spa suppliers are selling on Amazon because of the ease of delivery and the large number of customers who have moved from purchasing eyelash extension supplies from their usual supplier to Amazon.   WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN A LASH BED? Let's face it — asking this question doesn't begin to scratch the surface of what matters. Many different factors should be considered when making your choice because we all want quality products at an affordable price. That said, we've put together a list of those things that may help you decide which lash bed is most appealing to you. Lash Bed Mattress and Shelf Organizer are used here. Do you think a client standing 4'5 would have trouble getting into your bed? It would help if you struck a balance between a comfortable height for your client and a comfortable height for yourself.   2. WHAT AM I USING IT? The versatility of these beds is surprising, so they are one of the most valuable pieces of equipment for lash extensions.   3. CAN IT BE CLEANED EASILY? Make sure you buy a lash bed to use the proper sanitation products! You can get a vinyl cover for a low price to protect your original tablecloth from wearing out and tear from cleaning and use.   4. IS IT POSSIBLE TO REPLACE PARTS QUICKLY? Things break, and it's good to be able to purchase replacement parts for your lash bed.   5. HOW IS THE SHIPPING? Have you ever purchased something on the website and had to pay a high amount of shipping fee? One of the reasons I purchase so much from Amazon is that the delivery is usually really upfront and most items are returnable. Also, some companies won't ship to PO boxes. You might also be required to pick up the item at a drop point if the thing is large enough.   6. HOW MUCH DOES IT COST, AND WHAT IS YOUR BUDGET? Keep in mind that this could be a tax write-off depending on where you live! (save the detailed receipts) And always check the warranty.   7. ARE YOUR CLIENTS COMFORTABLE WITH IT? It would help ensure that your clients are comfortable with your lash beds. Sometimes buying lash pillows can be a quick fix.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.    WHICH LASH BED SHOULD YOU CHOOSE? Lash mapping is something lash artists do to plan how they'll put eyelash extension on clients natural lashes. It's a bit like planning how to build a pretty building using a blueprint. By carefully considering factors like the client's eye shape, desired lash style, and the health of their natural lashes, the lash artist maps out where each extension will be applied. Cashmere Noir Collection Lashes, Glitter Galaxy Collection, Color Lashes, Incredible Retention Primer, Super Bonder, Velour Lash Adhesive, Hydrogel Under Eye Patches, and Lash Tape are used in this set. To shop, please click here.    Let's start with the basics, and you need to map out your sets because it will allow you to stick to the map and create the exact look your client is asking. Think of it as if you are driving to a specific destination. You need a GPS ( formerly known as a map ) to tell you where you need to go. Without the GPS, you can end up somewhere else. Similarly, if you don't have a CLEAR map of the type of look you are trying to achieve for your client, you WILL get lost.   Cashmere Noir Collection Lashes, Glitter Galaxy Collection, Color Lashes, Incredible Retention Primer, Super Bonder, Velour Lash Adhesive, Hydrogel Under Eye Patches and Lash Tape are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Before mapping, you need to assess your client's facial features and determine what type of style will compliment their features.  Color Lashes, Velour Lash Adhesive, Super Bonder, Incredible Retention Primer, Lash Tape, and Hydro-Gel Under Eye Patches are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Let's discuss the lash mapping guide, why it is essential for lash artists, and lash mapping styles. But before that, let's get to know what you need.   It is the simple part; you'll need some eye patches and a sharpie. For the client's eyelids, you will need an eyeliner.  First, Apply the patches on the client's eyes appropriately. Incredible Retention Primer, Hydro-gel Under Eye Patches, and Lash Tape are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Divide the client's eye into two quadrants, then again into two more, and lastly into two more. You will have a total of 8 quadrants. After doing this, you will add the lengths you plan on using for this specific client. Keep in mind the image below shows a detailed map. Not all maps will be this simple. As you start learning how to work with multiple layers, you will have more and more numbers and details on your mapping. Incredible Retention Primer, Hydro-gel Under Eye Patches, and Lash Tape are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   You can draw on the desired lengths and mapping before your client's arrival (if you already know the map you plan to use, for example, if this is a regular client, that always gets the same style ). * But generally, you will need to map out the set directly on the client's eye patches once you have applied them. Incredible Retention Primer, Hydro-gel Under Eye Patches, and Lash Tape are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   PRO TIP: Before the appointment, ask the client to give you a photo of their eyes so you can check out their eye shape and mentally try and offer them some styles that will be appropriate for them. It will save you a significant amount of time, and you will look and feel more confident and knowledgeable because you have done your research, Prior to the client's appointment. Cashmere Noir Collection Lashes, Velour Lash Adhesive, Super Bonder, Incredible Retention Primer, Hydro-gel Under Eye Patches, and Lash Tape are used in this set. Before you begin, it's crucial to consider various factors such as eye shape, angle, spacing, face shape, and even the direction and curl of the natural lashes.   ANGLE OF THE EYES Take note of your client's eye angle, as it determines the positioning and direction of lash extensions. Eyes can be slightly upturned, slightly downturned or straight. Adjusting the lash placement based on the eye angle will create a harmonious and balanced look.   SHAPE OF THE EYES Understanding your client's eye shape is fundamental for creating a lash set that enhances their natural features. Recognize whether their eyes are almond, round, hooded, or monolid, as each shape requires different lash placement techniques to achieve the desired effect.   SPACING OF THE EYES When it comes to eye spacing, ideally, there should be approximately one eye's width between each eye for a balanced look. If the eyes are closer together than one eye-width, they are considered close-set or narrow-set, while eyes that have more than one eye width between them are classified as wide-set. This assessment helps in determining lash lengths and placement to achieve balance and symmetry.   SHAPE OF THE FACE Consider your client's face shape when planning the lash set. For wider faces, more dramatic lash looks can be carried off effectively, while very narrow faces may appear overwhelmed by overly long lashes or wide cat-eye styles. Tailor the lash set to complement and harmonize with their unique facial structure.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   SECRETS BEHIND THE MOST POPULAR LASH STYLES When we talk about your clients' eyes, eyelash extensions have made a big difference. They can change how your clients' eyes look, from a simple and natural style to a bold and eye-catching one. Various lash styles can completely change how your clients look. But have you ever thought about what makes these beautiful lash styles? Keep reading to learn more!   NATURAL LASH MAPPING As lash artists, we need to understand the importance of natural-looking lash extensions that perfectly complement your client's eye shape. That's where the art of natural lash mapping comes in. This technique involves carefully following the natural growth of the lashes, ensuring a seamless transition in length without any sudden changes. The goal is to achieve a stunning look that appears effortlessly natural and harmonizes with your client's unique eye shape. Promade Fans, Lash Wisps, Optite Low Humidity Adhesive, Super Bonder, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Natural lash mapping is particularly suited for clients with almond, round, and upturned eyes. By working with the natural growth of the lashes, you can create sets that blend flawlessly, enhancing your client's eyes in a subtle and elegant way. However, it's worth noting that if your client has hooded, monolid, or downturned eyes, alternative lash mapping styles may be more suitable to accentuate their features.    DOLL EYE LASH MAPPING If you're looking to make your client's eyes appear bigger and correct the appearance of downturned eyes, the Open eye or doll eye lash mapping style is a perfect choice. This technique involves strategically placing longer lash extensions over the iris, following straight lines, and then gracefully dropping down on the inner and outer corners. Promade Fans, Velour Lash Adhesive, Incredible Retention Primer and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   This lash mapping is a versatile style that works well for almond eyes, monolid eyes, downturned eyes, hooded eyes, and wide-set eyes. By creating the illusion of larger eyes, this mapping style enhances your client's natural beauty. However, it may not be the most suitable option for round eyes, upturned eyes, individuals with a narrow face shape, or close-set eyes.   CAT EYE LASH MAPPING The Cat Eye lash mapping technique focuses on starting with shorter lash extensions that gradually increase in length from the inner corner of the eye towards the pupil, and then dramatically extend even further towards the outer corner. This technique aims to make the eyes appear wider and can correct the appearance of close-set eyes. Cashmere Noir Collection Lashes and Ultra Crystal Clear Bond are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   It is a versatile style suitable for almond eyes, round eyes, upturned eyes, downturned eyes, monolid eyes, hooded eyes, and close-set eyes. However, it may not be suitable for individuals with downturned or wide-set eyes.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   HOW TO DETERMINE WHAT WILL BEST SUIT YOUR CLIENT? First, let's determine their eye shape:Determine if your client's eyelid has a crease. If the upper eyelid is smooth, your client has a monolid, considered a primary eye shape. Look at the outer corners of your client's eyes and imagine a straight, horizontal line extending from the outer corner to your client's pupil. If the line is above their pupil, your client has upturned eyes, and if the line is below their pupil, your client has downturned eyes, both of which are considered basic eye shapes. Once you have determined the eye shape of your client, it's time to consider what type of mapping will compliment their eyes.   It's important to know which shape will best suit their eyes. Here are some guidelines: Close set eyes can be enhanced with cat and squirrel lash lashes. These styles give your client a natural look while adding volume and length to their lashes.Wide set eyes work well with dolly and squirrel lashes. This gives them a more dramatic look without being too overpowering.Protruding eyes should be enhanced with squirrel and cat lashes. The drama of these lash styles will balance out the protruding effect of the eye shape.Round eyes are best suited for squirrel and cat lashes. These styles are often more delicate and look best on square faces too!Monolid eyes can work well with either natural, squirrel, or dolly lashes. Both styles will enhance the eye shape, so it's up to you as the lash artist to decide which type of lash looks best with your client's facial features. For almond-shaped eyes, natural, squirrel, and dolly lashes all work well. Depending on how deep your client's eye sockets are, you might want to go with a fuller style like natural or squirrel lashes—or even a thick set of cat eyelashes! If your client has upturned eyes, you'll want to choose a lash style that will bring out the natural beauty of their eyes. Natural lash styles are great for this, as they look very natural and help to highlight the color and shape of the eye. Cat lashes are also a good choice, as they give a more dramatic look than natural ones but retain some of their softness. If you're working with clients with downturned eyes, you'll want to focus more on bringing out the shape of their eyes. Squirrel lashes are great for this, as they help to create a more dramatic appearance and give an illusion of depth in the eye socket—this can be helpful for clients with smaller eyes or dark skin tones. You can also use cat lashes to bring out this effect even further or dolly lashes if your client has larger eyes or lighter skin tones!   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   The shape of your client's face can significantly impact what kind of lashes suit them best Here's how to tell which style will look best on your face: Let's start with the oval. Oval-shaped faces are very natural, so it's important to keep the look that way by going for a natural lash style like a squirrel. Squirrel lashes also add a lot of length and volume to your client's lashes, which is perfect for an oval face shape because it will make the eyes appear bigger and more open. If your client wants something more dramatic-looking, they should go with a dolly!Next up, we have hearts. Your client can choose between natural or squirrel. If they want something subtle but still noticeable, go with a squirrel!Round: Round face shapes are the most common face shape and are best suited for natural lash style. The round shape is wide at the cheekbones and narrows toward the chin. Round faces often have a full or rounded jawline and eyes that are close together. They can look like they have big eyes because the cheeks are so high. Lashes that are too long can make the eyes look smaller.Round faces with short eyelashes should try a more natural style like a dolly or soft curls to balance out their features. They should avoid lash styles that are too dramatic or have a lot of volume because they will make it harder for them to open their eyes wide enough!Square: Square face shapes are angular faces. They tend to be slim but have broad foreheads and narrow chins, making it hard for them to show off their features! Squares can pull off any style of lashes, but they would do well with a more dramatic style like the cat eye or squirrel! Spikes can also work on square faces because they draw attention back toward the eyes!Diamond-shaped faces are perfect for natural lashes. This shape is characterized by its sharp angle at the cheekbones, which means that a dolly lash style would look perfect on a diamond face. The dolly style has a slight curve in the middle, which makes it ideal for those with smaller eyes.Long faces are perfect for cat and squirrel lash styles. This face shape is characterized by having a longer length than width, so they should avoid styles with an elongated curl or length—this will make their eyes appear even longer! Instead, they should choose styles with more volume, or like cat or squirrel.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT LASH MAPPING STYLES WITH PICTURES? You can then pick your lash map once you've determined your client's eye shape. There are several lash types to choose from; we've included a few lash map examples below:   WISPY LASH MAPPING Wispy Lash Extension is a technique where a handmade lash fan uses 2-6 lashes, then applied using alternating lash lengths, which gives them the appearance of a False Strip Lashes & also known as the Kim-K look. Wispy Volume Lash Extension Full Set suits clients who desire a strip lash look.   A wispy lash style is achieved by using longer lengths (spikes) and placing them in different areas of the eye.   Wispy lashes can be used to create any look from natural to bold. As a lash artist, it gives you an opportunity to create the most flattering and beautiful lashes ever!   You can do this with purple lashes for the wisps.   A very natural lash mapping. You can recreate the same lash set for your clients, experiment with colors and curls, and let your creativity flow. Cashmere Noir Collection Lashes and Velour Lash Adhesive are used in this set. The length of the lashes gradually increases from the inner corner towards the pupil, and then dramatically extends even further towards the outer corner. This technique aims to create a visually elongated and lifted appearance, resembling the shape of a cat's eye. It's used to make the eyes look wider and can also help correct the appearance of eyes that are close-set. You can also achieve this look with more standard curls like C, CC, D or L. This mapping style is ideal for clients with downward-facing eyes as it will lift the eyes and give an illusion of nonsurgical lifting. Cashmere Noir Collection Lashes and Velour Lash Adhesive are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   The L curl is flat at the base. It's good for straight downward lashes. This curl gives a cool, dramatic look. People like it because it's different. Perfect for cat eyes. It's great if you have lashes pointing down. Lifts them up, especially for hooded eyes. This technique brings out the enchanting and mesmerizing essence of anime characters, leaving clients feeling like they've stepped into their favorite animated world. Optite Low Humidity Adhesive, Lash Wisps Mixed Lengths, Super Bonder, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. Remember that lash direction plays a vital role in achieving the desired anime effect, as each spike should be strategically placed for maximum impact. Anime lashes often have fewer but larger and more pronounced spikes that are spaced apart, resulting in a bold and captivating look that differs from traditional wispy sets. Optite Low Humidity Adhesive, Lash Wisps Mixed Lengths, Lash Tape, Hydro-Gel Under Eye Patches, Super Bonder, and Incredible Retention Primer are used in this set. Cashmere Noir Collection Lashes mix curls D, CC, and C, Velour Lash Adhesive are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   The C curl is softer, which can be used in the inner corner. The CC curl can be used in the eye's middle as it is slightly more curly. The D curl is used on the outer corner as it is a more intense curl and will provide a lifting effect and add more drama. You can also use an L or M curl on the outer corners for a lifting effect.   For more information on how to pick a lash curl for your clients, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   LASH MAPPING FOR COLOR LASH EXTENSIONS Colored lashes are a great way to add a pop of color and dimension to your client's eyes. When it comes to color sets, mapping is a must. This helps ensure that the lashes are placed in a way that will look natural, so your clients will love them!   COMMON LASH MAPPING MISTAKES AND HOW TO FIX THEM When you want your clients' eyelashes to look really nice, lash mapping is like a special tool you can use. It helps you figure out where to put the lash extensions so their eyes look amazing. But, sometimes, things don't go perfectly. No need to be upset! In this part, we'll discuss mistakes that often happen with lash mapping and teach you how to fix them.   DOWNWARD FACING EYES Downward-facing eyes tend to look droopy if they are styled incorrectly. There are some contraindications for clients with this type of eye shape. You want to avoid the squirrel mapping since it will make the eyes look droopy like sad puppy dog eyes. We want to avoid this at all costs.   Try this mapping to elevate the client's eye and correct the visual dropping effect. This is great for clients that need an extra lifting effect.   LASH EXTENSIONS FOR HOODED EYES Every eye shape demands a tailored approach to lash extensions, and hooded eyes require special attention. With a distinctive fold of skin partially covering the eyelid, lash styling for hooded eyes can be challenging. We'll explore some key mistakes to avoid, ensuring that your clients with hooded eyes leave with breathtaking lashes.   AVOID OVERLY NATURAL CURLS Steer clear of curls, such as B and C, that provide minimal lift and fail to impact hooded eyes.   MIND THE LENGTH The right lash length is crucial for hooded eyes. Short lengths, ranging from 6mm to 11mm, may get lost within the hooded fold and go unnoticed. Classic Lashes, Elite High Humidity Adhesive, Incredible Retention Primer and Super Bonder are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   STRIVE FOR APPROPRIATE MAPPING Mapping is vital in determining lash placement. Strike a balance between a natural look and providing lift for hooded eyes. Avoid overly natural mapping, as it may yield underwhelming results. Focus on mapping techniques that emphasize the client's natural eye shape and provide lift. Consider incorporating longer lashes towards the outer corners or creating a subtle cat-eye effect, enhancing the eye's shape and lifting the hooded area. Classic Lashes, Velour Lash Adhesive, Lash Tape and Gel Under Eye Patches are used here. To shop, please click here.   Mastering lash extensions for hooded eyes requires attention to detail and skill. By avoiding common mistakes like using overly natural curls, choosing inadequate lengths, and employing underwhelming mapping techniques, you can ensure that your clients with hooded eyes leave your studio feeling confident and thrilled with their lash extensions.   HOW TO WORK WITH A CLIENT WHOSE EYES ARE FAR APART? Avoid cat-eye and squirrel mapping since it will emphasize the distance between the two eyes, making them look further apart. Avoid long lengths and strong curls like D DD, L, and M on the outer corners, emphasizing the outer corners. Pick dolly eye mapping and or a natural mapping to remove the emphasis on the outer corner of the client's eye and improve focus on the inner corner by filling in the inner corners. Fill in the inner corners well, emphasizing the eyes are coming closer together and looking more balanced. Experiment with colors as this will emphasize the client's eyes and remove the emphasis on the eyes looking not balanced.   Ultra Crystal Clear Bond used in this set. However, even experienced artists can sometimes make mistakes in their mapping techniques   LET'S ASSESS THIS IMAGE: This image shows us why mapping is so essential. On the left, we did a Cat eye mapping, and it emphasized the eye facing downwards. Additionally, we used lengths 8-15mm C curl, which was too long, way too h, which looked really "droopy "and made the client's eye look very sad. ( puppy dog eyes ). The mistakes made here were: wrong mapping, wrong length, and possibly wrong curl. The right eye is what the client's eye would have looked like with the correct mapping "the doll eye would have been ideal and much more complementary for this client. "Additionally, shorter lengths 7-12mm, would have decreased the dropping of the lashes. A lifting curl would have been great, such as an M curl or L curl. This type of mapping places most of the emphasis on the eye's middle and away from the outer corners, elevating the eye, instead of making it appear droopy.     For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF LASH CURLS? BONUS LASH TECHNIQUES AND LASH MAPPING Natural-looking lash style is the perfect choice for those who love their lashes to look like they were just born that way—no drama, no fuss, just beautiful, fluttery lashes that look like you woke up with them.If your client prefers some more drama, opt for the Fox style. These lashes are more dramatic than the classic option but have a natural look. They're perfect for someone who wants a little extra length and volume. The Squirrel lash style is excellent if you want long lashes that add volume without being too much or too obvious. These lashes are perfect for someone who wants to keep her makeup simple but wants her eyes to stand out.      Doll eye lash mapping is a way to make your clients lashes look like a doll's eyes. With this style, longer lashes are put in the middle of the eye, making them seem bigger and rounder. The lashes get shorter towards the sides of the eyes. This technique tries to make a person look cute and innocent, like a doll. Many client like this style if they want their eyes to look sweet and charming. One of the most common lash styles is Kim K. To achieve the Kim K look, spikes or the longer lengths are placed in different eye parts to produce a wispy set. Clients with Round and Almond eyes are both perfect for this lash style.   CONCLUSION Specific eye shapes and features will appear very differently on each client. There is no one-size-fits-all situation. Being a lash artist truly is an art. Lash mapping is an excellent way to build a lash extension set customized to your client's features. Lash mapping also saves you time by allowing you to build the perfect variety of lash extensions in less time and go back to your lash mapping at any time. No matter how long you've been lashing, the skills of correct lash mapping are essential to providing perfect lash extensions to your clients.   Watch this lash extension tutorial video and learn more about lash mapping.   Do you find this blog post helpful? Can you learn lash extensions online? Is eyelash extension training worth it? Best online lash extension course? How to learn lash extensions at home? If you’re thinking about becoming a lash artist or even growing your current skills, eyelash extension training is a must. In this blog, I’ll walk you through why training is essential, how it benefits your career, and what you can expect from a solid lash course. Whether you're a newbie or an experienced artist, training plays a key role in your success. Let’s dive in!       New to lash photo editing? We've got you covered with our Free Lash Editing Tutorial. Click here to learn more!   Why Eyelash Extension Training Is So Important Proper training ensures you have the skills, knowledge, and confidence to deliver safe, high-quality lash services that keep clients coming back.   Build a Strong Foundation Just like any other profession, learning the right techniques from the start is crucial. Eyelash extension training helps you master the basics: how to apply lashes correctly, safety precautions, and lash health. Without proper training, it’s easy to make mistakes, like damaging natural lashes or using products that aren’t right for your clients. A good course will give you all the tools you need to provide high-quality services.   Boost Your Confidence Once you've been through a comprehensive training program, you’ll feel confident about working with clients. From isolation techniques to glue selection, training gives you hands-on experience that helps reduce anxiety and uncertainty. When you feel good about your skills, it shows in your work, and clients will trust you more.   Stay Up-to-Date with Trends The lash industry is constantly evolving. From new application techniques to changes in style preferences, it’s important to keep up. Eyelash extension training isn’t just for beginners—experienced lash artists can benefit from advanced courses that teach the latest trends, like volume lashes, hybrid sets, or the popular wet lash look. Regular training keeps your skills sharp and your clients happy.   What You’ll Learn in Eyelash Extension Training Training covers essential techniques, product knowledge, lash health, and client care, providing everything you need to create flawless lash sets.   Lash Health & Anatomy Understanding lash health is a key part of your training. Knowing how natural lashes grow and how to protect them while applying extensions ensures your clients' lashes stay healthy. This will help build trust with your clients, as they’ll see you care about their long-term lash health.   Types of Lash Extensions You’ll learn about different lash styles, from classic lashes to volume and mega volume. Each client has different preferences, and training will teach you how to customize your work. Whether a client wants a natural look or a dramatic set of lashes, you’ll be ready to deliver.   Adhesive Knowledge Choosing the right adhesive can make or break your lash sets. In eyelash extension training, you’ll learn which glues work best in certain conditions, like humidity or temperature changes, and how to avoid common adhesive problems, like clumping or poor retention.   Client Care and Aftercare It’s not just about the application—training also teaches you how to properly consult with your clients and guide them through aftercare. Educating clients on how to care for their lashes after the appointment helps improve retention and leads to better client satisfaction. Happy clients mean more referrals!   The Benefits of Taking Eyelash Extension Training Investing in your education boosts your credibility, attracts more clients, and increases your earning potential as a lash artist.   Increase Your Earning Potential Let’s be real—proper eyelash extension training allows you to charge more for your services. Clients are willing to pay a premium for someone who is well-trained and knowledgeable. When you invest in your education, you can confidently price your services based on the quality you provide.   Attract More Clients People want to know they’re in safe, skilled hands. By showcasing your certifications, you instantly build credibility. Clients will feel more comfortable booking with someone who’s gone through proper training and continues to improve their skills. With time, your business will grow through word-of-mouth and repeat clients.   Troubleshoot Retention Issues Every lash artist faces retention problems at some point. In a good training course, you’ll learn to troubleshoot these issues and find solutions. Whether it’s adjusting your glue technique, managing client aftercare, or making changes based on natural lash cycles, knowing how to solve problems is a major benefit.   What to Look for in an Eyelash Extension Training Course Choose a course that offers experienced trainers, hands-on practice, small class sizes, and ongoing support for long-term success.   Experienced Trainers Make sure the trainer has plenty of real-world experience. You want someone who’s not just book-smart but also knows what it’s like to deal with the day-to-day challenges of being a lash artist. A trainer with a lot of experience can give you tips and tricks that go beyond the textbook.   Small Class Sizes Look for classes with small student-to-teacher ratios. This gives you more one-on-one time with the instructor, which helps you get the most out of the training. Hands-on practice is key when it comes to mastering techniques, so make sure your class allows plenty of that.   Ongoing Support After you complete your eyelash extension training, it’s normal to have questions or run into issues once you’re back in the real world. Find a course that offers ongoing support, like a mentor program or access to a community of fellow lash artists. This is a great way to stay connected and continue learning even after your training is done.   Final Thoughts: Why Training Sets You Up for Success At the end of the day, eyelash extension training is one of the best investments you can make in your lash career. It doesn’t matter if you’re just starting out or looking to sharpen your skills—continuing your education will always pay off. You’ll build your confidence, keep up with industry trends, and most importantly, grow your business. A trained and confident lash artist is one who will stand out from the crowd and attract loyal clients. So, if you’re serious about being the best at what you do, invest in quality training. Define Your Brand Identity Start by defining what makes your lash business unique. Consider your style, the techniques you specialize in, and the kind of client experience you offer. This could be anything from a luxurious, spa-like atmosphere to quick and affordable services. Example: If your brand is all about organic products and a gentle approach, make sure every post echoes this theme.   2. Use High-Quality Visuals Since lashes are all about visual appeal, your social media posts should feature high-quality, close-up images of your work. Use a good camera or smartphone and natural light to capture the fine details of your lash applications. Example: Before-and-after photos showcasing the transformation can be very effective. Post these consistently to highlight your skill and the quality of your results.   3. Engage with Your Audience Interaction is key on social media. Respond to comments, ask your followers questions about their lash care routines, and share stories that invite further interaction. Example: Run a weekly Q&A session on Instagram Stories where you answer followers' questions about lash care and maintenance.   4. Leverage Client Testimonials Share reviews and testimonials from happy clients. This not only boosts credibility but also shows potential customers the kind of experience they can expect. Example: Create a highlight reel on your Instagram profile dedicated to testimonials and client selfies.   5. Offer Exclusive Social Media Promotions Give your followers a reason to book appointments through your social media profiles by offering exclusive discounts or packages. Example: "Flash Sale Friday — Book through Instagram and get 10% off your next refill!"   6. Utilize Hashtags Use relevant hashtags to increase the visibility of your posts. Research popular hashtags in your industry and also create a unique branded hashtag for your business. Example: Use general tags like #lashextensions, #lashartist, and more specific ones like #MiamiLashes if you’re based in Miami.   7. Post Consistently Consistency is vital in keeping your audience engaged and in making your social media profiles look active. Decide on a posting schedule and stick to it. Example: Plan to post at least once a day or several times a week, focusing on peak times when your audience is most active.   8. Show Behind the Scenes People love seeing the person behind the business. Share behind-the-scenes content that shows your process, your workspace, or even your daily routine. Example: Share a time-lapse video of you setting up your work station or preparing for a client.   9. Educate Your Audience Provide value to your followers by sharing tips on lash care, the latest trends in lash styles, or how to prepare for a lash extension appointment. Example: Write a mini-blog post on "Top 5 Foods to Enhance Lash Health" and share it as an Instagram post.   10. Collaborate with Other Local Businesses Partner with other local businesses like bridal shops or beauty salons to cross-promote services. This can help you reach a broader audience. Example: Collaborate on a giveaway with a local bridal shop where the prize includes a lash extension session for the bride.   By implementing these strategies, you can create a distinct presence for your lash business on social media, attracting more clients and building a loyal customer base. Contain Your Costing You might think that getting your pricing higher will surely bring profit. Yes, it's true, but it will not come in handy. Changing the pricing of your services/products might significantly hurt your lash business. I am not saying you can't increase your pricing. I am trying to say it grow when the company stabilizes and when you are ready to do it. In the meantime, keep the clientele up if you are trying to grow your business. Keep the cost of your salon or business minimal. That is why the inventory of products is highly recommended at this stage. You can't afford to buy so many supplies and not maximize their use. But what is necessary as of the moment. Upgrades can be done once you have already established your lash business and keep being fully booked. Lessen the marketing materials that are not relevant to your lash business. For now, focus on what's free or at a minimal cost.Again, upgrades can be done in no time once you keep up with your clientele. L Curl Lashes and Ultra Crystal Bond are used in this set. Why not extend your business to the nearby cities where you can also offer your business. It is what the social media platforms you have will do wonders for your business. With your content, posting your lash sets works, the proper captions, and high reach hashtags, you can reach out to clients you would like to market. If you're from San Diego, add a location pin on your post or hashtags, and people researching the lash business near or on San Diego, your post will surely be on their feeds. You expose your lash business to so many people who might be your prospective clients. However, if you don't know how to treat your clients well, by all means, I will tell you that your business will not go anywhere.Without your clients, you will be nothing. The business will be useless. Learn how to treat them well, giving them an above and beyond kind of services they paid for and what they deserve. by Michelle Rebay on Mar 22 2021
How do lash artists make money? How do lash artists get more clients? The pandemic dramatically affected everyone, and the lash industry was also got tremendously affected. Due to this year's pandemic, most lash artists steadily declined clients coming to get their lashes done. As lash artists, we need to be innovative and find ways to get extra profit for our lash business. There are many ways to make more money as a lash artist and beauty professional.   Ultra Crystal Clear Bond used in this set. To shop, please click here.   New to lash photo editing? We've got you covered with our Free Lash Editing Tutorial. Click here to learn more!   Making money as a lash artist can be tricky. There are many strategies that you can employ to ensure that you make the maximum amount possible.  We will give you many tips on how to scale your business as a lash artist, and hopefully, this will help you get through this pandemic in running your lash business successfully.    1. Upscale Your Skills When you're beginning your lash journey, you offer the same basic lash set: classic lashes. It truly is a great start, but if you want to make more money as a lash artist, it's essential to upgrade your lash skills as soon as you feel ready to do so.  Classic Lashes Wispy Lashes 0.15 C curl 8-15mm and Velour Lash Adhesive are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   I know this might be an additional expense, but I assure you that take this as an investment. You will indeed be able to stand out from your competition. When you have already mastered a basic classic lash set, it's about time to learn a new skill set, hybrid, volume, mega volume, and wispy lash set.Remember, clients love variety, and they are willing to pay more for a lash artist who can offer them a variety of lash sets. It's like going to a restaurant, and you would instead go to a restaurant that has a variety of food options, then going to a restaurant that only has a few options on the menu. The same goes with lash extensions. A client will prefer to commit to a lash artist that can offer a different lash set. Clients do not like to change their beauty professionals, and they want to go to the same one. Therefore, for your lash client to commit to you, it helps to have a variety of looks in your portfolio because the client never knows when she may feel like trying mega volume or colored lashes. Do this gradually, go to training one step at a time. It's always good practice to put away at least 5% a year on training that you want to do as a beauty professional. Remember, when you can offer more value, you can already increase your pricing. You can search for local training in your area, and online training is also beneficial because it allows you to learn a skill in your own home.     I am currently offering an Online Wispy Training Course that is a full-blast of information that  will upscale your lash skills to a different level. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER>> Hydro-gel Under Eye Patches, Ultra Crystal Bond, Lashes and Lash Wisps are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   2. Upsell Your Other Lash Set A client goes to your salon asking for a classic, be proactive and maybe offer a hybrid or mega volume, or wispy lash set, tell them about the benefits and the beauty if can add on their overall look. Some clients DO NOT know about other lash sets, and they would be perfectly excited and happy to upgrade to another lash set if they knew about it. Educate your clients and empower them. It is the best gift you can give them and yourself.Upselling would be helpful for you to upgrade their lash set from classic to wispy, which of course, will be a higher price and an apparent reason for having extra profit on your own.You can also upsell your client on another service you offer. For example, offer them a facial with the purchase of a lash set for 30 % OFF. This strategy works best if you provide a discount with an expiry date. Scarcity is significant here.Use your charisma when talking to your clients in sales; this is crucial because your clients will not remember what you said to them, but they will remember how you made them feel, so always make them feel fantastic around you so they will want to come back for more services. We go into much more detail about the detailed strategies in our online marketing course. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER>> Ultra Crystal Clear Bond is used in this set. To shop, please click here.    3. Selling Products  My struggles looking for lash products are accurate and took years. I had to look for vendors that passed my standards as a lash artist. Products that I would be producing to recommend to my lash artists friends.  I had wasted money, time, and efforts before I decided to create products that would be quality-tested by my team. It is an excellent avenue to make some additional income as a lash artist, but this avenue takes much more time and finances than the other avenues. If you are not ready yet to start your product line, that's fine, and because you need to have enough funds, the expenses can be pretty high to create your line. You can start selling aftercare kits, lash foams and lash wands. It will be a good start that you can recommend to your clients. When recommending these products, educate them about the benefits of their aftercare routine, and that's when you will tell them which products to use and sell them their aftercare kits directly. Lash Foam is used in this set. To shop, please click here.   Aside from displaying it in your shop or salon, you can be aggressive in doing your marketing. Everything is online now, and digital marketing is the latest trend on making your lash business out there and letting people know that you are selling lash products aside from eyelash extension services. Social media marketing for lash artists is fantastic. If you are NOT yet using social media platforms to sell your lash services and products, it's time to start. In our case, we are giving out free education for lash artists and educating lash artists on various products and tips they can use in their daily practice. Promoting your services or products on social media can be profitable if done correctly. Take advantage of this NOW. The cost of FB and Instagram ads will only continue getting more and more expensive. There's no better time to improve your social media presence and start getting more clients.   4. Be A Mentor You already know everything there is to know about the lash company, and you are confident in your ability to run it. If you are sure enough, you can consider mentoring other lash artists. As our way of giving back to our community for supporting us, we are more focused on giving free education to each of you rather than selling our products; we try to provide you with as much free information as possible. Still, we also put together more extensive, more complete, and detailed courses for a reasonable price. We want to make our education and tips available and affordable for most lash artists. Lashes, Color Lashes, Ultra Crystal Clear Bond and Lash Wand Tube used in this set. To shop, please click here.   5. Offer Other Services I love to go to a place where I can make my hair done, nails done—a one-stop shop. You can also learn other services, micro-blading, nail spa, hair salon, facial, and waxing. Keep in mind that you want to increase your average order value with each client that walks through your doors, as you don't want to waste any valuable dollars on marketing.    Lashes and Ultra Crystal Clear Bond are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   If you want to learn and create a beautiful set of wispy lashes. We have a FREE Training Ebook just for you, please click here. *Grab your FREE Training Ebook on wispy lashes now! ( limited time only )     CONCLUSION I hope you find these helpful tips beneficial for you. Again, these are trial and error that I had to experience for the last few years. Finally, it takes time to learn how to promote your eyelash extension services online. As long as you are ready to learn new things, open for new opportunities, and have the attitude of a “can-do” outlook, then you are on the right track on reaching your goal to become the lash artist that you ever dreamed of while getting paid what you deserve. To all of you reading this, a kind reminder: It is not an overnight success. There will be rejection, failure, and frustration but bear in mind that you got this and believe that you wanted this so bad that you will do whatever it takes to succeed in this industry.Upon reading this blog post, if you have any additional info or tips that you wanted to add that you might think will be beneficial to all, feel free to write in the comment section.Let us continue to build a community of helpful lash artists who are always willing to extend their helping hands.   Do you find this blog post helpful? How Much Money Can You Earn As A Lash Artist

by Michelle Rebay on Mar 08 2021
How much money can you make as a lash artist? How much per day or month will all depend on how eager you want to earn more. Yes, it's profitable as long as you work so hard to build your clientele and at the same time improve yourself as a lash artist and improve your skills too.  Undoubtedly, being a lash artist can be very rewarding and profitable. Having some hard facts about how much money you could earn as a lash artist is also important. However, it's not easy without knowing how much money you can make as an eyelash artist per day or month. There are some factors to consider when you decide to start your own business. L Curl Lashes, Ultra Crystal Bond, Marlowe Tweezer and Malachi Tweezer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   New to lash photo editing? We've got you covered with our Free Lash Editing Tutorial. Click here to learn more!   Being a lash artist is the best decision that I made. Venturing into this kind of industry has been rewarding yet challenging, and it brings out the best and worst about me. Before discussing the money side of this blog, let us briefly talk about how to become a lash artist. You can check out your area where you can have your training to get certified as a lash artist, which is very important for you to perform eyelash extensions. There are so many things that you need to learn. Yes, you can watch videos online, but hands-on training will be a different kind of training that will further enhance the type of skills that you already have or have no experience with at all. Once you get certified, the next step would be sourcing for your lash products essential when you perform your job. It will be a bit time and money-consuming because you have trial-and-error on this part. Are you going to work in a salon or have your shop, or maybe you can consider working from home since it's pandemic? It all depends on your current situation financially. Just a heads up, you will not earn as much as you are expecting when you are just starting your career because you may know you need to invest in the products you will be needing, your location, and other stuff.   How much do lash artists make? It's a question that I get asked a lot: "How much money can I make as a lash artist?"How much money you can make is determined by several factors, some of which are under your control.First and foremost, the more clients you have, the more income you'll receive. But not only have the clients come in but having them come back is essential. Because if they don't come back, you're not going to be able to charge them, or they're not going to be paying you.Secondly, what do you charge? Some people say "double" or "triple" or whatever number they want to use, and they multiply it by what they think their cost is. That's not really how it works.I think it's important to understand your market and understand what people are willing to pay. And this isn't unique to the beauty industry or lashes. It applies across the board for any brick-and-mortar business where people are coming directly into a place of business and paying for services. As I said, it's essential to know your market, but other things go into it, like how much time it takes you to apply your lashes.   Let us make a computation for you to oversee the possible earnings you will be getting. For a classic, I started charging ranging from 50-80$ when I started. Some of you might think that is way too low. Yes, you may be right. However, during this time, my goal is to practice as much as possible. Even after getting certified, I kept practicing, but I didn't charge any. I called for models, my family members, and my BFFs willing to be my practice client, and I did everything for myself. I didn't earn so much, but I learned from those who trusted me. L Curl Lashes and Ultra Crystal Bond are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   Computation:  If you've ever considered a career as a lash artist, now's the time to make your move. Let say, 80$/full set 80$/set x 4 clients/8 hr. = 320$/day 320$/day x 5 days a week = 1, 600$/5 days of work 1, 600$/week x 4 weeks in a month = 6, 400$/month 6, 400$ x 12 months = 76, 800$/year That is only for a classic set. You can get higher for the different lash sets you will offer your clients.  This pricing is for my beginner's rate. And I keep increasing as I eventually get to know more of the industry. Let us say, you’re already a PRO and charging 130$ for classic, let see the computation below: 130$/set x 6 clients/8 hr. = 780$/day 780$/day x 5 days a week = 3, 900$/5 days of work 3, 900$/week x 4 weeks in a month = 15, 600$/month 15, 600$ x 12 months = 187, 200$/year   What do you think about this computation? Do you think this is undoubtedly a profitable career? As I have mentioned earlier, earnings depend on how fast you can work on and how many clients you can accommodate per day.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   How to put a price on your service? As a lash artist, you might not know how to put a price on your lash services. You can do competitor's research, check your local lash artist as to how much they are charging, and it's best to check how the local market is doing their prices. With this, you will not set so high or low. If your area has clients who pay more and give tips, of course, go charge higher, but if it's the other way around, then make the necessary adjustment on your pricing. L Curl Lashes, Ultra Crystal Bond and Portable Handheld Cooling Fan are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   Want to earn more? Go digital and market your eyelash extension services online There are still people doing the old-school type of marketing, brochure, tarpaulin, and all these printed materials.Who believes here that every business now is going digital. Social media works so well with companies, but you have to know how to do it well. There are so many ways how to reach out to your ideal clients. You can quickly reach out to the women in your local area. You can directly talk to them, market your services, and book clients right. It's a matter of the right content to post online and the kind of customer service. L Curl Lashes and Ultra Crystal Bond are used in this set. To shop, please click here.   PRO TIPS: When you make pricing on your lash service, make sure it's reasonable. Whatever they pay for the service, provide them what they paid. Remember, they will also be part of your marketing strategy. If they like your work, they spread it to everyone they do and will surely recommend you to their friends. As we all know, word-of-mouth is the best marketing tool.   For more tips like this one be sure to subscribe to our email list, we send very informative and helpful emails every week, please click here.   CONCLUSION As an esthetician, you're part of a profitable industry. You have years of experience making your clients look and feel their best, and now it's time to make the most of your skills. Becoming a lash artist could bring even more success because eyelash extensions are sought after by many women.     Do you find this blog post helpful? Have you learned something?
