When you pick up your lashes and create your fan, the glue can rise and get into your tweezers, causing your lash fan to become stuck to your tweezers. Before you continue, make sure all the glue residue is removed from your tweezers so you can create a perfect set. A tweezer cleaner is one of the tools you can use to remove the glue from the tweezers.   STEP #1 Pinch the sponge ball several times in the cleaner liquid using the tweezers. It can be tough to tell whether a client is oily because it isn't always obvious, and sometimes you won't know until you see the lash and it has slipped off. If your humidity and temperature are perfect, but your lashes are falling off, you may need to use a primer. It is essential to understand when and why you should use primer since then you'll have the best retention.   WHAT IS A LASH PRIMER? The eyelash extension primer is a pre-treatment for the lashes to help them stay in place longer. I recommend giving your clients a lash bath before you start priming. Some lash artists prefer to provide all of their clients (complete lash sets or fills) with a lash bath to clean the lashes before starting thoroughly. STEP #1 Lash Primer can be applied directly to the natural lashes with a lip gloss brush before lash extensions are attached. It eliminates residues and oil buildup on the natural lashes, leading to blepharitis, and prepares the natural lashes to hold the lash extensions better. Don't let a little product throw you! Make sure you know when and why to apply it--and when not to. Primer can result in poor retention and damage to the natural lashes if not used on the correct client. Lash primer, when used correctly, can make your lash application faster and improve retention. But it's only suitable for some clients.  If a client has dry skin, putting a primer on their lashes can also dry them out, preventing the adhesive from fully attaching to the natural lashes. STEP #1 Place your tweezer in the middle of the extension when picking up the classic lashes. It shouldn't be too high or too low. If you set it too low, the lash glue will stick to your lash tweezer, and if you put it too high, you won't have enough control over the extension. It is because today's modern premade fans have fragile bases.Promade fans are 100% handmade. They can be made by a lash artist before the client's appointment and stored for use during the session. You might love or dislike premade fans, but keep in mind that the market is changing, and so also you. Now is the time to consider your clients. You've undoubtedly invested a lot of time and money into learning advanced volume techniques, numerous ways to make volume fans, or complicated styles. Try to think of it as something that will improve your lash game rather than something that will worsen it. To shop, please click here.   The most straightforward technique to work with layers is to place the longer lashes on the bottom layer, one size shorter on the middle layer, and one size short on the top layer. As a result, the client will have a beautiful dark lashline when your client opens her eyes. You can use a simple eyelash extension taping trick to assist you with layers. To make the bottom layer visible: Tape the lashes up. After you've finished lashing the bottom, take out another layer of lashes with a tweezer, lashes layer, and repeat the process. Remove another layer of natural lashes with the tweezers. In this way, you'll be sure to work correctly, layer by layer, while keeping the size in mind. When isolating, always use very pointed tweezers and take your time. Keep your isolation tweezer in place for a second after applying a premade fan to ensure that the adhesive has thoroughly dried before removing it. You won't get a flawless attachment if it's popping up or crisscrossing. The distance should be no more than 1mm when you're a newbie. If you're an experienced lash artist, we recommend using half of a millimeter as the distance from the eyelid.Please remember, as I'm sure you already know, that lashes should never be attached to the skin because this might result in a severe allergic reaction or just irritation.When dipping the fan in the adhesive, scoop it upwards slightly. You'll have enough glue to wrap around the natural lash nicely this way. The incorrect way to dip the premade fan into the bond is to do it in fast motion, which results in a small bubble of glue and insufficient adhesive to attach the fan.To get the fan, open your tweezer and grab the middle of the fan so that you don't destroy it when you pick it up, grip it and peel it towards yourself. The first thing to remember is that if your clients come to the appointment with some makeup, you can do a lash bath using a lash foam shampoo to remove any oils or dust around the lash line. When you go too close to the waterline and the client closes their eyes, the lash pad shifts up, causing watery eyes and bruising. We mistakenly believe it is due to an allergic reaction to the adhesive, but it is actually due to the pad scratching the client's eyes. The simplest way to avoid this is consistently re-adjust the patches every 20-30 minutes, ensuring the client is comfortable, and the patches are not causing discomfort. If your clients' eyes turned red and watery during the session, there could be a variety of causes for this, but this could be one of them, so keep an eye out for it and make sure you're not taping too high. Some lash artists use 0.20, but this is a controversial topic. We recommend using 0.15-0.18, depending on the client's natural lashes condition. A healthy and natural solid lash can hold only 0.25. If you apply a heavy extension, it will harm the natural lashes. Ensure to evaluate each of your client's lashes; even though I understand that this takes a little more time, it will undoubtedly save your clients because their lashes will remain healthy and solid thanks to your lashing service. The rule of thumb is to go up 2-3 mm from the client's natural lashes. If your client's lashes are 11mm, you can apply a 13-14mm lash on this natural lash without risking damage. In addition to this, you want to map out the client's lashes to have a nice smooth transition in between all lengths. One of the biggest mistakes a lash artist can make is using the same size throughout the eye. It's essential to use a variety of lengths to achieve an excellent symmetrical and complementary mapping. When you pinch and get a tiny droplet out of it, it'll lay flat, and your glue should have a little bubble. If you're going to shake it by hand, make sure you shake it side by side for at least 1 or 2 minutes to ensure the ingredients are thoroughly mixed. Your second drop will be the freshest with all of the ingredients mixed. Never shake your adhesive up and down. Every time you shake your lash adhesive, it will raise the nozzle. Thinner viscosity glue is so fragile if you shake it up and down, the cap will become stuck to it, and your adhesive will stop working correctly, causing you problems. If you drop it and it's a puddle, keep shaking it until you drop it and it's an actual bubble. When you get a maximum bond and do it when it is a puddle, and you dip your extension in there, it doesn't even stick to the lash; appropriately, it might even pop off while you brush it. Make sure it comes out as a single tiny drop on the actual extension; you don't want multiple bubbles on the lash extension because that would be excessive adhesive. Apply one dip to the bubble, a small amount of glue to the bottom, and then glide it over the natural lash. If you use too much adhesive, you'll get stickies, which will harm the natural lashes. I used to make one mistake was wiping off the excess on the patches. I quickly learned that it causes retention issues, can burn through the patch, and generate heat, making the client uncomfortable. For clients with sensitive skin, bio gel or foam pads might be more suitable. Repositionability If you frequently need to adjust the pads during application, opt for pads that maintain their adhesion even after repositioning, like bio gel pads. Comfort Ensure the pads you choose are comfortable for the client. Uncomfortable pads can cause the client to fidget, making your job more difficult.   Application Tips Preparation: Cleanse the under-eye area to remove any oils or makeup residue. This ensures better adhesion of the pads. Placement: Carefully place the pad about 1-2 millimeters below the lower lash line. Ensure all lower lashes are covered to prevent them from sticking to the upper lashes. Adjusting: If you need to adjust the pad, do so gently to maintain adhesion and avoid irritating the skin. Many lash artists tend to continue using 2-sec drying time adhesive even after their timing has improved just because that's where they feel most comfortable. After you've been a lash artist for at least six months, if you have a lot of clients a week, your timing should improve, especially if you are doing volume more often to your clients, you should switch to 0.05 to 1 sec drying time adhesive. Also, if you use an adhesive that is too slow, your fans will close, and you're going to get frustrated because you're trying to apply that fan on the natural lash, and the fan is closing on you. ( all tweezers vary slightly in terms of their sweet spot, it's essential to test it out and determine the exact place on YOUR tweezer that will pick up your fan. Make use of a thin, quick-drying adhesive. Dip the fans into the glue dot 1.5 mm. If you use too much or too little lash adhesive, the fan may close, so be careful. To work with a sticky dot, put in the lash fiber and make them bounce up on the dot surface (this will make them open up).
